Once I'd heard dem words and dat most precious a sounds- I knowed that everythin was gonna be jus' fine. Oh it'll be plenty hard; no one tells that old Queen what not to do, but this is gonna be a story worth tellin' long after its all said an done.

Remus had been waiting patiently, watching the duck in his normal subdued calm. Once the phone contraption was back in it's cradle he grinned again.

"You'll be doin' more then jus' Miss Alice a favor. The whole worl' is gonna be all the right for what you and your friends is about to do."

"I didn't know Wonderland was so important," Donald said. He took a seat on a recliner and beckoned the man to sit down, as well. "I always thought it existed just to be crazy."

He paused before asking, "How do you know so much about Wonderland? Did Alice tell you about it? She's a real good girl. Too curious for her own good, but still a good girl."

Donald was unaware of Uncle Remus's relationship with Wonderland, and could definitely stand an explanation.

"heheheh, dat be right Br'er Duck but t'ain't nothng more important ta a worl..den a little bit a crazy. Keeps dat balance that make da worl how it be, youse see?"

The mountain welcomed the invitation to sit down; it was an awful long way from the Briar Patch and he weren't as young as he liked to think he was.

The question was expected, and Remus only smiled. There was something wise in that smile, and it became obvious as the old man spoke.

"How does I know Wondahland...heheh that is a worthy question, a right worthy question. Well Br'er Duck- ebry few decades or so, sometin happens in dat kooky place. A new Pillar need ta be picked- someone wit enough brains and magination ta understand what don't make a lick a sense."

He paused a moment, once a story teller- always a story teller, "Were several years ago, more now then I care ta think, dat I were one a dem pillars. It were mah job ta keep Wondahland in da laughing places and bogholes of da Briar Patch."

((I remembered what we called Alice and Uncle Remus :D))

Donald listened intently, and he quickly put two and two together. "So Wonderland has pillars, or guardians? Then that means--" His eyes widened. "Are you saying Alice is the next 'pillar'?"

His grip on the armrests of his chair tightened. He was more fearful for Alice now; if something happened to her, how would that effect Wonderland--and by extension--the world? Would the world become unstable?

"More 'en dat sur. She is da pillar right this very instant." He watched the duck grip the armchair, but was to polite to bring it up in anyway.

"She went off ta try an fix tings but; I'm right ta think thaten she t'ain't got vury far. Even wit dat caution of a rabbit wit her. Der's on'y on way ta get inta Wondahland now sur."

"Did she even ask to be a pillar?" Donald asked, still lingering on the subject of Alice's destiny. "Or was she chosen automatically?" He rubbed his temple in worry. He hadn't seen Alice in a while, but he was already acting like a worried parent. Maybe it was because without his nephews, he had to worry about another child?

Remus's last comment then registered in Donald's mind. "How d'we get to Wonderland now?" he asked. If Remus used to be a guardian in Wonderland, then surely his suggestions and knowledge were legitimate.

Donald looked to his mirror and raised his brows. "But how are we gonna get through that? I'm not a sorcerer!"

Remus gave a warm smile, as close as he could to a laugh, "Sho'nuff youse don't need ot be a witcher ta get ta Wondahland."

He tapped his head, "Alls ya need is ta think, blink and take leap a fate."

Donald looked to Remus, then to the mirror. Sure, he could do that; just think happy thoughts, and take a leap of fate into the mirror. Simple enough, albeit nonsensical... akin to Wonderland.

The duck continued to stare at the mirror. "I hope Alice is okay!" He was ready to go. "As soon as Joe and Panchito get here, we're taking off."
