Fortunately for Gwen, by the time the new distraction had reared his head, she had already twisted the make of the car enough to suffice as warning to the police. Had Savage arrived just a few moments sooner, she might not have had so much luck. Concentration was one of the unfortunate requirements of her powers; a double-edged sword, in many respects.
She turned to face the new arrival, only after he had growled and actually spoken. Gwen had toyed with the idea of simply ignoring him in order to goad the welcome distraction into an impulsive, unwise show of his powers, though the powerful voice had made her think twice. One look at her new adversary only confirmed what the sound of him landing on the pavement and the rough edge to his voice had made her assume- he was a powerhouse, likely about ten times more gifted than she was physically, if not more. A dangerous enemy to get caught up in a fight with, though a welcome challenge at the same time regardless. Especially because of the two other superheroes he was starting to remind her of. It would feel wonderful to crush somebody like them with her abilities, particularly as one of her first acts in a brand new city.
"Is that so?" Gwen finally challenged, sneering behind the mask, positioning her hands so that they were facing the police car again. "Well, we'll see about that."
Bolts of energy rippled back out of her fingertips and into the squad car- this time, in an attempt to rapidly reassemble the automobile into it's original form, but with the officers still trapped inside to serve as insurance against the brutish hero that had arrived first on the scene. Once the deed had been done she willed the car to lurch forward as fast as possible toward Savage; but only after ensuring that she was not in the oncoming path of the vehicle. With the officers still trapped inside of the car, Gwen was curious to see what the hero would do- and just how much force he could handle. It was just as much a test of Savage's strength and endurance, as it was to see how this new brand of hero would react to a situation like this. She needed to find out as much as possible about this city's self-proclaimed superheroes, if she was to find the best way to defeat them, after all.
