POOF!When the sulfurous blue smoke cleared (accompanied by numerous coughs from Dreamchild), Paradox, Dreamchild, and some other members of the Dream League were revealed to be standing at the entrance (at least what could be best called an entrance to a forest) of the Walter Elias forest, beyond the confines of Epcot City. Merlin, known in missions by his alias Paradox, stood looking into the thick woods, wearing his new uniform. "Here we are," the old hero said to his companions. "We'd best ascertain what's going on here."

Dreamchild waved the thick blue smoke away from her face to hopefully clear the air and breathe fresh oxygen. She covered her mouth whenever she coughed, though she thankfully didn't cough too much. Her voice was shaky, as if she stepped off of an unexpected roller coaster ride. "I don't think I'll ever get the knack of your teleportation magic, Paradox." She placed her gloved right hand on her chest and sighed in relief, happy that she was feeling her senses again. She wondered how Merlin could ever get used to teleportion like that; she felt a little sick when it happened. Then again, it was the fastest way to get the Dream League from the Overlook to the woods; Gyro Gearloose still wasn't finished with the Star Wisher. But even if the teleportation was fast, Merlin rarely used it on others than himself, and not just because of the sickly feeling from first-timers; it required great concentration and knowledge of the area. Paradox was still a (magical) fish out of water.
She, too, looked into the woods. There were reports of strange noises and even stranger glows happening in these woods. The police didn't consider the strange going-ons important enough to investigate, and many of the civilians either didn't care or were too intimidated to check it out on their own. That's where the Dream League comes in!
Dreamchild looked back to Paradox, and then to each of the other members of the Dream League that joined this mission. "I think we should remain close together."

With one hand, The Masked Mallard whirled his midnight blue-lined cape about him to clear away some of the cloudy blue smoke that hung in the air, struggling to combat the dizziness he presently felt at the same time. He tried to stifle a groan, but was unsuccessful. In his other hand, he clutched his silver-headed cane.
His dizziness was a side-effect of Paradox's teleportation spell. The Masked Mallard was going to have to check in on Gyro once again to see how much he had progressed on the Star Wisher. Sometimes the kooky crane needed a little push. As quick and efficient as teleporting was, he found it to be rather unpleasant experience.
As the Gentleman's Crimefighter's lightheadedness finally receded, he nodded in agreement with Dreamchild and Paradox before looking around at his fellow superheroes. "If everyone's feeling better, let's proceed." He didn't want to have the team staggering through the forest like a bunch of drunks. They needed to be on their guard to face whatever was lurking out here.

As the unearthly blue smoke cleared away, another member of this gang of heroes was revealed - Archimedes the owl, seated on Paradox's right shoulder. Having been the old wizard's companion for nearly his entire life, having to endure Merlin's disorientating teleportation spells was something he was quite used to - still, however, he preferred to fly from place to place instead, but in this case, he needed to be alongside Paradox (and the others) as soon as possible, and so he put up with it once again. In response to the rather shaken responses of Dreamchild and the Masked Mallard, Archimedes did no more than flap his wings a few times to shoo away the smoke that floated around him.
Gazing around with his seemingly permanently serious glare, Archimedes took in his surroundings - as he did, the owl's eyes flashed a bright green, and this color momentarily replaced the typical yellow of his lookers. This forest was quite thick, so he may have difficulty making out anything hidden behind the trees with his more-than-extraordinary vision, but it still worked well enough within a good-sized radius. Regardless, he saw nothing out of the ordinary... a few small birds fluttering about, a squirrel or two, but otherwise, nothing.
With another flash, his eyes became yellow once again, and he looked down towards Paradox. "No sign of anything suspicious yet, Merlin," he affirmed, habitually calling the mage by his real name rather than his alias. "We'll need to press deeper."

Paradox, who has teleported on so many occasions for so many years, was completely unfazed by the magic. He even scoffed at Dreamchild and the Masked Mallard for their reactions, but he was quick to focus on the matter at hand again. He nodded to both Dreamchild and the Masked Mallard, and then turned his head to look at Archimedes as the owl used his supernatural eyes to examine the forest so far.
"All right, then let's get a move on."
The old wizard invited himself to start for the forest. His pace was brisk but not difficult to keep up.
"Something in these woods is leaving the people here uneasy. We just need to find out what." He didn't look to either Dreamchild or the Masked Mallard, or even Archimedes, as he spoke, but he clearly addressed all of them.

Dreamchild's thick legs carried her through the edge of the forest. She walked into the woods with the same intention as all the other members of the Dream League. But something unexpected happened: not a minute into the woods, Dreamchild gasped, clenched her eyes shut and pressed her gloved fingers against the sides of her head. She kept her eyes closed as she spoke aloud to her comrades.
"I sense... someone. There's somebody here, but..."
Dreamchild gasped again and snapped her eyes open. She lowered her hands and looked to each of her partners as she spoke. "There is someone here, close to us!" After her sudden and unexpected burst of psychic activity, Dreamchild became (and appeared) normal soon after.

Paradox jolted to a stop when Dreamchild gasped and had her psychic episode. When it was over and she explained the unknown presence nearby, Paradox furrowed his bushy eyebrows and stroked his beard inquisitively.
"Hmm, is that so? Maybe this person will know what's going on here."
He looked to the other elderly-yet-spry member of the Dream League, the Masked Mallard, and then back to Dreamchild. He kept Dreamchild's safety in mind (she was only twelve, after all), so he started walking before her, and he insisted on keeping it that way until he was certain that Dreamchild was safe to wander.
However, Paradox didn't stop the other members--the Masked Mallard and Archimedes--from wandering on their own, in case they wanted to find this mysterious person.

Approximately fifty feet away from the nearest hero of the Dream League slept a beautiful yet mysterious girl. In truth, she was just over halfway through her seventeenth year, although her exceptionally pretty body belied her young age. Her long, fine hair was gold like sunshine, and her lips rivaled the reddest of rose. She was asleep by unnatural causes; she had slept on the forest floor, surrounded by patches of blackberry bushes and thorns, because of a curse. Thankfully, she was not dead; the continuous rise and fall of her chest was the most obvious proof that her heart still beat.
She slept on the soft, damp grass, her legs locked together, her left hand on her abdomen while her opened right hand was rested roughly five inches from her head. Her hair was spread around head her on the ground; even when cursed to sleep, this mysterious teenager was radiant.
Also radiant was her costume, complete with the purple eye mask...

When Dreamchild's stance suddenly became stiff, the Masked Mallard noticed this, and drew closer to the girl, wondering if she required assistance. Perhaps her powers had picked up on something. Sure enough, she went onto announce the presence of another living being in the area.
"Is that so?" The Gentleman's Crimefighter asked rhetorically, eyebrow ridges raised. Like Paradox, he proceeded to walk before his young teammate. "Remain close to us, lass." He instructed Dreamchild, referring to himself and the other three adults. He was naturally protective of her due to her age, and sometimes forgot that she had been a solo heroine in England before coming to the States.

Perhaps Dreamchild had not noticed through her ethereal powers, but there was more than one person that happened to be close by - said person was, in fact, in the same location as the one that Dreamchild had detected.
The second stranger, also a young girl around the same age (possibly older) as the maiden sleeping on the forest floor, was crouched beside the golden-haired lass, seemingly examining her with curiosity and a hint of suspicion. Although the sleeping young woman was dressed in a most unusual, although elegant, costume, the other girl appeared arguably even stranger in appearance - she seemed to have come right out of the Stone Age. Dressed in animal skins, wearing a wolf-tooth necklace, and with her face painted in bright crimson markings, the prehistoric-looking girl had short, dark brown hair held together by a tiara-like headband, and equally dark, piercing eyes that incredulously and quizzically scanned the other girl all over. She seemed confused at finding such a girl sleeping in the middle of the forest... but, like all intruders, she regarded her with suspicion.
The dark-haired girl clutched what looked like a shining white, arrowhead knife in her fist, but it appeared that she had no intention of harming this intruder. On the contrary... something in her eyes seemed to hint that the wild woman was almost captivated by this pretty young thing. She was just reaching out a hand to move a few golden locks out of the girl's beautiful face, but immediately whipped it back as her keen, enhanced hearing picked up incoming footsteps, crunching leaves and twigs along the forest floor. Without any hesitation, the wild woman darted off of the scene like a startled deer, with surprising swiftness. She made not a single sound as she swooped over the leaves and bushes, moving in an almost ghostlike manner.
None of the group of four would have caught a glimpse of this wild girl, however - she vanished without a trace by the time they had entered the clearing.

Fortunately, Dreamchild was obedient to her elderly colleagues. Her pretty, delicate head nodded to the Masked Mallard, and she found herself walking even closer to her companions more than just a minute before. She walked with Paradox, his owl, and the Masked Mallard in silence. When she noticed a clearing ahead, she pointed at it and spoke to the men.
"Look here. There's not as many trees clustered here." She gestured to the clearing as she entered it.
To the left were a lot of bushes, and the Dream League closest to said bushes was the Masked Mallard. (The bushes that conveniently hid a sleeping beauty.)

Paradox stepped into the clearing alongside the other Leaguers, and noticed bushes scattered everywhere. He heard Dreamchild's distinctive, feminine voice, and he started for the cluster of bushes closest to him.
"There might be something here, so let's just search for a moment or two."
The elderly hero ran his hands through the inside of a bush and brushed it aside, searching for anything unusual. If there was a presence nearby, as Dreamchild said minutes ago, then there might be evidence of such a person here, in this clearing. Dreamchild searched a different section of the clearing; Paradox knew this because he, for a moment, looked over his shoulder to glance at her, before continuing his search in the bushes closest to him.

Although nothing had come up at first within his radar, Archimedes continued to scan the surrounding forest as the group pressed onward, his eyes shining as he twisted his head all about. The owl's see-through vision soon picked up a clearing up ahead... and something else. Archimedes jerked his head forward attentively - he thought he caught a glimpse of something... but, in an instant, it was gone. Perhaps it was just a trick of the eye?
Shaking his head, the owl returned to scanning the immediate area around them, and, once again, quickly caught sight of something else - something that was definitely there. It was... a person. A young woman, sprawled out upon the ground... was she dead?
"Merlin," Archimedes harshly whispered to Paradox, in a tone loud enough to be heard by the other two Dream Leaguers. "Behind those bushes, there!" He pointed a wing to a cluster of bushes that seemed inconspicuous enough, but most likely weren't if Archimedes' alert expression was any indication. "Th-there's a person! A girl!"

Overhearing Archimedes, the Masked Mallard echoed, "A girl?" Intrigued by the idea of a young lady out here in these woods by herself, what with all the bizarre recent events, as well as puzzled, he pushed aside the dense cluster of bushes that seemed to have captured the owl's attention and peered around. The blonde human teenager wasn't hard to miss.
The Gentleman Crimefighter stopped and stared down at the gorgeous stranger in fascination. Normally, he wasn't one to allow himself to be captivated by the opposite sex regardless of how pretty they might have been (to date, there was only one woman who had succeeded in stealing his heart!), but seeing this young lass out here just laying on the ground amidst thorny bushes and dressed in a costume... it was quite strange! Surely this pretty young thing could not be responsible for the weird reports of noises and such. Was she another superhero like them? Bending down, he took her wrist, checking her pulse. It was normal, or at least it seemed to be. Noticing the gentle rise and fall of her chest, he quickly came to the conclusion that she was asleep!
"She must be the one you sensed, lass." The duck addressed Dreamchild. "But what is she doing out here?"

Dreamchild turned quickly to Paradox and Archmedes' direction after hearing the owl's whisper. The owl's whisper failed miserably at being quiet, but Alice was thankful of this, because she absolutely wanted to find what Archimedes saw. The potential to save the day was only a slight reason; the girl was actually a very curious soul, and she so often fell victim to curiosity.
Alice listened to the owl, and she looked to where he pointed. She looked just in time for the Masked Mallard to find what Archimedes saw. "Hm?"
Dreamchild walked until she was beside the Masked Mallard, but she gasped softly the instant she saw the stranger. She was an older girl, but still young, maybe short of eighteen. She was definitely taller than Dreamchild and the Masked Mallard, which was obvious even from Dreamchild's perspective. But there was one detail of the stranger that Dreamchild noticed most of all.
"My... She's beautiful." Her voice was soft, as if afraid to wake the sleeping beauty. If Alice were more vain or concerned with her looks, she probably would have felt self-conscious, or even jealous, of the stranger's appearance. Even if she was masked, this sleeping teenager was exceptionally pretty.
Dreamchild's thoughts were interrupted by the Masked Mallard. She looked to him and smiled, feeling proud that her senses were accurate. But her smile was short-lived, and was instantly replaced with a confused expression. "I don't know, Mr. Mallard," Dreamchild admitted. She looked at the stranger again and continued.
"I've fallen asleep by a riverbank and under a canopy before. But I should think that sleeping here is very odd, indeed!" She shifted her weight and looked up to the old wizard's face, who had just approached the sleeping beauty, too.

Before the sleeping beauty was discovered, Merlin continued searching an area of the clearing. He would stop after hearing the harsh whisper of his closest collaborator, Archimedes. He moved his head as right as he could to look Archimedes in the face. But he looked the opposite direction when the owl pointed to what he found. The elderly yet powerful wizard hurried to Dreamchild's right side, and to her left was the Masked Mallard. He, along with his comrades, looked down at the stranger. She was, indeed, beautiful, even though her eyes were closed and a portion of her face was behind a purple eye-mask. The girl's skirt was modestly lengthen and pink, as well as her boots that fell just short of her knees. She wore a golden belt, and above that was her blue top. It was tight-fitting, and her willowy, curvaceous body was plainly outlined, and yet, somehow, the costume still retained its share of modesty. Sleeves reached about an inch short of her wrists. And, of course, there was the aforementioned mask, which was a mixture of blue and pink: lavender.
Paradox furrowed his very bushy eyebrows and stroked his beard, a beard that took years just to grow. "Ahhh," his highish voice scratched like sandpaper. "Let's try and wake her up." Without saying another word, let alone discussion, he carefully nudged the stranger's right foot with his left. "Madam, wake up!" His voice wasn't obnoxious, but it was hardly quiet.
Something was definitely wrong: the girl didn't budge a centimeter.

Archimedes lifted his thick eyebrows in interest as the hidden woman was finally revealed, leaning forward slightly from atop Merlin's shoulder to get a closer look. That costume she was wearing... it was enough to ensure Archimedes that he was, in fact, correct about his assumptions of humans in the future generally going about in preposterous outfits. Still, she did have a certain elegance about her, that the owl had never seen before in another human.
"Mmm... for a human, I suppose," he snidely remarked in response to Dreamchild's observation of her beauty. What in blazes was the child doing sleeping in the middle of a patch of thorny bushes, however? Either she was quite foolish in picking places to nap, or...
"... Merlin," he spoke again to his companion, as he attempted to awaken her. "You don't suppose she's... under some sort of spell?" The sensible owl, firmly grounded in the realm of logic, felt a bad taste in his beak as he spoke these words, but as his partner was indeed an accomplished wizard, it was not out of the question for magic to exist elsewhere. Wizards and witches were hard enough to come by in thirteenth century England, however... how common were they in this day and age?

Dreamchild ignored the owl's backhanded compliment. Maybe with enough exposure, she would learn to grow fond of the owl's excessively grouchy nature. But there were more pressing matters at hand. Dreamchild winced lightly when Merlin suddenly exclaimed at the sleeping beauty. That yell absolutely should have broke her slumber, and if not, then the wizard's nudge. But the girl did not stir at all. Dreamchild folded her left arm on her chest and she rubbed her chin and bottom lip with her right hand. Her white eyes closed halfway as she thought aloud.
"Hmm. Unusual activity has been happening here, in this forest. And here is a young woman who's asleep, and won't wake up." She was probably stating the obvious, but she had to say it. "I don't think this is a coincidence. Whatever's happening here, she must be a part of it somehow."
That's when Dreamchild realized, if the woman wasn't waking up, then... maybe there was something she could do. But she would wait until the Masked Mallard gave his opinion. She expected such an opinion, for she looked at him.

Archimedes might have been onto something, the Gentleman Crimefighter realized as Paradox attempted to awaken the young woman. She didn't budge an inch. The duck's thoughts mirrored those of the wizard. Even someone as thick as his old pilot Launchpad McQuack could see that there was something terribly wrong with this poor girl. He couldn't discount the use of magic -- after all, it was a magic spell that had granted him his own powers in the first place, to say nothing of Paradox's own magical powers, or those of his personal nemesis Magica DeSpell. The Masked Mallard carefully nodded as Dreamchild went over the facts before adding his own two cents.
"I hate to say it, but there's nothing logical about any 'o this. Which means it must either be some form of science we are not yet familiar with... or magic. I believe magic is your realm, Paradox." He looked to the bearded wizard. "Are there really spells that can put one into a deep sleep?"
He knew of a few fairy tales where the princess or someone had been placed under an enchanted slumber -- as a young boy, he had and his sisters had heard them from their mother, and Webbigial, Miss Beakley's nice who stayed at McDuck Manor, had more then a few books which used that theme.

Paradox stroked his beard as he watched the result of his near shout. Result, there was none; the girl continued to sleep, and didn't so much as flinch. If it weren't for the continuous rise and fall of her chest, and the noticeably peaceful expression on her face, she could have been assumed dead. It's nice that she wasn't dead, but if she can't wake up at all, then that's a major problem.
Paradox listened to the comments of his companions. He grunted lightly as he thought. Although his lips were often hidden behind the wizard's large beard and mustache, his eyes and brows were definitely more expressive to his companions. His brows furrowed and his eyes focused on the girl. It wasn't until after the Masked Masked Mallard's comment (following Archimedes's and Dreamchild's) that Paradox spoke again.
"Yes, it is a possibility. Yes, I would say so." In an instant, Paradox shot his right index finger forward and pointed squarely at the sleeping girl. "Snick-snack-snorrel!" The wizard obviously expected the girl to wake up after those nonsensical yet powerful words, but she didn't. Paradox was obviously annoyed. He muttered angrily under his breath (which sounded somewhat like a growling dog), and his pointing intensified. "Alakazam!!" The girl continued to slumber.
Paradox was annoyed, but then he appeared very worried. He looked helplessly at Dreamchild and the Masked Mallard, while Archimedes could definitely hear the concern in his voice. "She is cursed, but I don't know how to break the spell." He was angry with himself, but his anger was overpowered by concern. He looked back at the slumbering teenager. The more he looked at her, the more beautiful she appeared. Who could do such a thing to (what he could only presume for now) such a young lady?

Dreamchild watched the old wizard's face, but when it was obvious that the wizard wouldn't succeed in breaking the victim's curse, she looked to said victim. The English youth's masked eyes examined the victim, and she bit her lip as she thought. She knew that she had to utilize one of her more complicated powers, even though she had only tried it once before, and she wasn't sure what would happen here. But if it meant saving a poor teenager's life, she would have to take her chances.
After Paradox helplessly admitted failure, Dreamchild took a step forward, ahead of her companions, as she stood before the teenager in the unusual yet elegant costume. Though Dreamchild's face wasn't seen by her comrades (though they could see her back and pear-shaped yellow hair), she spoke to them.
"There is something I'd like to do. I don't know if it will work, but I have to try." She turned her head and looked over her left shoulder, to the others. "But if I do this, I need to concentrate, so please don't bother me." After a short pause, Dreamchild took a breath and asked tersely, "Do I have your permission?"
Dreamchild's voice, usually polite, was at that time serious and determined, and gave the impression that she absolutely had to do what she was prepared to do.

Paradox's thoughts and worry were interrupted when Dreamchild suddenly stepped forward. He made a quick look to Archimedes and then back to the girl, his long beard shaking a bit as his head moved. The girl was somewhat cryptic with the details of what exactly she wanted to do. At the same time, Dreamchild's voice was serious and even stern, as though she was confident that what she was thinking was absolutely worth a go.
Paradox pressed his then-sliding glasses back onto his nose with a finger and nodded to the girl. "All right, Dreamchild. I won't disturb you." He looked to the Masked Mallard. "And you?"

Paradox confirmed the Masked Mallard's question, then, as the Glaswegian duck watched hopefully, attempted to perform some magic on their mysterious new friend. The girl remained as sound asleep as she had been when the Dreamers had first stumbled upon her. The medieval wizard stated that the girl was under some sort of curse he couldn't break. He was obviously troubled by this.
Before the Masked Mallard could speak or react to this, Dreamchild stepped forward with her request.
"I'll be as quite as a mouse." He gave Dreamchild and the rest of his teammates a nod, his expression one of seriousness. He didn't know exactly what she was going to do, but they didn't appear to have many options left in curing the teenager, so he was willing to do what it took to free her from such a horrible curse.

Thankfully, Dreamchild's partners reached a consensus. After Dreamcild's request met a positive reception, she broke her determined expression for a moment by smiling like a little girl who happily got things her way. "Thank you," she said in gratitude. Her smile immediately vanished and her face tightened in determination once more. "I'm going to enter her dream. Or try, at least. Maybe I can wake her up that way. I've only done this once before, so..." Her sentence ended awkwardly. Her head returned forward and she looked down at the beautiful yet mysterious sleeper. Dreamchild walked around the cursed beauty and sat behind her head, Indian style. Going into one's dream, Dreamchild had to get in a comfortable position, because if her body ached from discomfort, her concentration could break, and she would be pulled back into reality. Dreamchild wasted no time. As soon as she sat down, her blue and white gloved hands gently grasped the teenager's head, primarily the forehead, and Dreamchild closed her eyes, the whiteness vanishing almost entirely. "Please let me in your mind, whoever you are." Although the others couldn't see it, Dreamchild manifested herself into the sleeping beauty's subconscious. Then, she was dead silent. *** Dreamchild gasped when she regained her senses. She felt as though she was falling (albeit slowly) down a long, deep well. She looked down at her booted feet. She was definitely wafting downward, but she couldn't see to where; she was in pitch blackness, even though her entire body was illuminant like she was under the noon high sun. "Well!" Dreamchild exclaimed to herself as she felt herself descending slowly. "After this I shall think nothing of falling downstairs!" She gasped softly when she felt her feet making contact with a surface. She locked her hands together anxiously and took one step forward. The ground was stable, and Dreamchild chuckled in relief. She brought her hands up to her head and she brushed excessive hair that overlapped her shoulders behind her neck. Dreamchild didn't realize that, even in this dream world, she still acted prim and dainty. Dreamchild looked around her, but she still couldn't see anything other than the color black. She was the only speck of color in a universe shrouded in heavy darkness. "It's nice that it was easy to come in," Dreamchild said to herself. She talked to herself a lot, in any world she enters. "But what's the point if I can't find anything?" Dreamchild frowned, already fearing a stalemate, but then she remembered something. She giggled and insulted herself. "You silly girl! You have power in this dream." Dreamchild closed her eyes, and then she flicked her eyelids open. But what was once a pair of normal yet white eyes turned into a pair of powerful beams. With her eyes, which illuminated areas of the darkness like flashlights, Dreamchild began her search. She wandered around in the darkness, but with her eyes she could make out random objects, mostly antique furniture, as though they were from the fourteenth century? Every time she saw a piece of an object, no matter how great or small, said object fully appeared in the black world. Once found, it appeared permanently. "How very curious!" Dreamchild mused. "N-no! You must focus, Dreamchild!" Her hands tightened to fists and she walked briskly. "You must find what's wrong with her, and--" Dreamchild gasped when she heard a scream. But the scream was soft and distorted, which only made the cry eerier. Dreamchild's lips parted, and she cocked her head and listened. She didn't move, she just listened, for the noise. There it was again! It was coming from her right! Dreamchild looked to her right and saw a stone wall. In an instant, a large model of a castle (it looked like a very expensive dollhouse) appeared before her, on the floor. The model was large and wide, but not taller than the girl. The scream was heard again, and it was definitely coming from inside the castle. Dreamchild crept to the castle and prepared to tear off a portion of the roof, so she could peer in...

The beautiful teenager with hair of sunshine gold, and whose lips shamed the rose, was fully awake in this realm. In her costume, the exact same in the real world, the maiden tried to open the door in the room she was trapped in, but it wouldn't budge. This was extremely odd to her, because her strength far surpassed the strength of normal human beings. She couldn't fly! Even her most unique attack, a bolt of pure heat and energy, wouldn't work here, no doubt because there was no sun. The room was illuminant, but not greatly.
"Help me, please!" the young woman screamed. She fearfully looked back and gasped when another hog-like monster materialized. It snorted and lumbered for her. The teenager was quick to punch the monster into a small explosion of smoke, but no sooner had she destroyed the monster than another foul creature appeared in a different part of the room. It was like this for how long? Hours, maybe even a whole day, or more! She was scared, and she was losing hope.
She grunted and was about to attack the creature before it would (obviously) attack her, but a sudden rumble and a loud noise overhead caught the attention of both the teenager and the dream realm's offspring. The maiden screamed and she ran to avoid falling debris. A large chunk of the roof crushed and destroyed the monster, though there was no blood afterward, just smoke. The cursed maiden stood beside a large bed with a large canopy (she was in a room that vaguely resembled, of all places, her bedroom back in her home, but not entirely). She could only watch as most of the roof was torn off by--
The teenager winced and shielded her eyes from the bright light.
"W-who's there?!" she called.

When one is completely engulfed by an ominously bright light, one would never expect to hear the loud, etheral voice of a young, polite girl.
"Oh! I'm sorry!"
Dreamchild closed her eyes, which ceased the light entirely, and she opened them. Her white eyes were back to normal, and now she could see inside the castle. Inside was the remarkably furnished bedroom of an ideal medieval princess. And the bed! Alice would have loved to have such a bed! Not like St. Blair Academy's beds that was modest in quality, at best.
Dreamchild noticed someone standing beside the bed. She was tiny, like the size of a doll (because Alice was, frankly, a giantess now), but it was the dreamer! She was awake, she was active, and she talked! Dreamchild smiled widely and she leaned her face further in the room to get a better look.
"Oh, thank goodness! You're here! I've been looking for you!"

The teenager whimpered softly in fear, and she lowered her hand so her now opened eyes could get a look at the intruder. It was a giant of a young girl, obviously bigger than the house. The girl was in a unique costume (from what she could see) and an eyemask that, honestly, reminded the beautiful maid of her own wardrobe. The girl sounded friendly, but the young woman in blue and pink was still hesitant to trust the giantess.
The maid pressed her back against the wall she was closest to, obviously attempting to keep her distance. She quickly looked around the room, and noticed that the monsters, who incessantly antagonized her for over a day, have stopped appearing permanently. She looked up to the enormous girl and, after an awkward silence, spoke up.
"I'm sorry for being rude, but... w-who are you?" The maid, while still cautious, tried her best to be polite.

Dreamchild's smile was replaced with awkward realization. The girl was a giant who tore off a room, and inside was, in this realm, a helpless victim. Of course the cursed beauty should fear Dreamchild!
The English girl shook her head, which caused some hair to trail over her shoulder and enter the room. She was quick to brush back the hair and she spoke. "Oh-no-no-no! Please don't be afraid! I'm here to help you. Here, let me just..." Dreamchild was once swollen considerably, but she used her lucid dreaming powers to make her shrink to what should be her normal size. Of course, Dreamchild was outside of the castle, and so she vanished out of sight from the cursed beauty's perspective. Levitation solved that problem; Dreamchild levitated up and over the roof, down through the hole she made, and landed delicately in front of the teenager.
Immediately apparent was the teenager's height. Alice had shrunk to what she considered would be her normal height, if she met this stranger in the real world. The stranger was fairly taller than average; while Dreamchild was just barely over five feet, this stranger must have been 5'9". Of course, the stranger did wear healed boots...
Dreamchild set aside the height comparison. She definitely had to look up to address the teenager, which was good for said teenager, because surely she would feel less intimidated now. Dreamchild smiled and adjusted the blue ribbon that was fancily attached to the chest area of her costume.
"My name is Dreamchild, and I'm here to free you. May I ask for your name?"

The attractive teenager watched in wonder as the enormous girl modified her size with ease, at least it looked easy for the girl. The teenager stepped from the wall and peered up to the hole in the roof, and down came the girl. The way she wafted through the air reminded the teenager of her own inherent powers! Powers that she couldn't utilize here. Why?
The teenager was definitely taller, and she looked down at the girl. Soon, her beautifully red lips were pulled into a smile, her first smile since coming into this hellish nightmare. Her strikingly fetching eyes crinkled in a mixture of happiness and relief.
"M-my name? Why, it's... it's Sunshine."
After a pause, Sunshine's smile warmed even further, and she locked her hands together in modesty. "Thank you for helping me. I was stuck in here with those terrible beasts, and I--" Sunshine's lips pursed and her eyes widened. "Where am I? Do you know?"

Dreamchild's own smile warmed when she saw and heard the gratitude of the rescued teenager. The English girl was relieved to learn that, despite the teenager's immense (maybe even supernatural?) beauty, she appeared very humble and sweet. Ah, beauty was much better with a matching soul.
But Dreamchild's smile was short-lived; Sunshine tersely asked where they were. "I understand your concern," Dreamchild replied with a nod. "You're asleep. You're not in the real world." Dreamchild gestured to the room she's in, and then the hole in the roof above. "I can't make sense of this place, because it's made up of your memories. This castle, this room, I don't know where they come from."
After a pause, Dreamchild looked up to Sunshine again and continued. "You said monsters attacked you? I don't know how to explain that. Paradox thinks you were cursed, and--" Dreamchild gasped and pressed her right fist against her chest. "Paradox! Archimedes! And the Masked Mallard!--they're all waiting for us!"
