The Balloonist could do many things because of his power ring. One of abilities the ring grants him is the power of flight. It wasn't natural like it was with Sunshine, but he could do it. Actually, the Green Bone was very similar to him in some ways, so the puppy must have felt the same gratification for his power ring, too.
The superpowered widower narrowed his eyes when he and the others ended up closer to the face of the sword. "Look at that thing!" the old man's voice called. "How can a sword be so big?" His illuminant blue eyes stared at the sword. His eyes trailed down the blade until he could see the impaled Khan Tower.

Sunshine flew by the side of the Star Wisher from where she could see her friend, She-Wolf. The Ray of Hope's face was etched in determination, as she flew higher and higher, alongside, the aircraft. Despite her determined face, she definitely felt a twinge of fear as she saw the sword, as well as its 'face.' This was the closest all of them saw the intruder, and Sunshine was positive that all of them felt the same way: they didn't like this new presence at all.
"I wonder where it came from?" Sunshine asked aloud, her lips tugging in curiosity. "Why did it land here, in Khan's building?" She exchanged glances to her partners, even the ones protected by the aircraft.

"I've never seen a sword with a face before!" Exclamed the Green Bone as he followed Sunshine up, his green aura glowing around him as he examined the sword's 'face' as well "Good question." The emerald pup said, a chill ran down his spine as he looked at the sword.

As the Star Wisher came closer and closer to the floating island that held Khan Tower - as well as that enormous sword - that charged, partially fearful and partially confident feeling that welled up from within San became even stronger. The monstrous sword became more clearly visible by the second, and San's hairs stood up on end as she stared intently at that grimacing, fanged face on the otherworldly entity. It was a mystery as to just how and why this sword appeared here, but She-Wolf was absolutely certain that there was something greater behind this... something evil.
As Duck Avenger piloted the Star Wisher towards the tower and the sword, She-Wolf repeatedly glanced out of the window at Sunshine, who flew next to it - partially to ensure that she was alright, and partially for her own comfort. This was an unsettling experience, even for the normally fearless, undaunted She-Wolf, and it was helpful to know that her closest friend would remain by her side during this time.
"Wherever it came from," she remarked in response to her teammates, whom she could hear from inside, "we can't let it stay there."

The massive sword had been stoic, appearing as nothing more than an inanimate object, since it had erected the barriers which encompassed all of Khan Tower and shut Epcot City out from the rest of the world. Though as the Star Wisher, and those Dream League members flying alongside it, grew closer it suddenly exhibited signs of life once again. Its jaw twisted down into a snarling frown, its large eyes narrowed and its pupils began to glow a shade of magenta, the pupils tracking and following the movement of the approaching Dream League. The eyes on the demonic skull at the hilt's tip began to burn red and pulsate like spherical flames.
“Halt! Who goes there?” The jaws of the sword shifted as it spoke in a booming, gritty voice which resonated and echoed throughout the area. “Intruders! Recognition: the Dream League.” It added, continuing to scowl at the approaching heroes from the safety of its impenetrable shield. “This tower, and soon this world, belong to us now; the Smithy Gang. Your meddling will avail you not, for none save the Smithy Gang may pass beyond the barriers.” The giant sword informed them.
“Though rejoice; you, all within this city, are at the forefront of a new world order, and shall be among the first to bear witness to a world-altering shift in history take place. The time of you fleshlings has come and gone. An era of cold steel and metal is now upon your world.” The menacing words of the invader having been uttered, it returned to a motionless demeanor, the illumination in both pairs of eyes going out. It had nothing more to say, and took no further action to thwart their arrival, for it knew they could not pass through the barrier.

Duck Avenger had the Star Wisher remain in place when the sword did something unexpected: it spoke. Any lingering hope that the sword was really a misunderstood, peaceful visitor was obliterated by the alien's words. What he said implied global domination, and this sent a chill through the otherwise warm Sunshine. The superhuman frowned, and color escaped her cheeks as she listened to the evil being. What did he mean by an era of cold steel and metal? It wasn't good, that was for sure.
Finishing talking, the sword returned to what Sunshine would describe as a slumber. But was it really sleeping? The powerful teenager flew as close as she could to the visible barrier. She sacrificed herself by touching the barrier. She expected to be shocked, or thrown off, or suffer other detrimental effects. But the barrier did not harm her to the touch; it was just completely unbreakable. She punched it with a grunt, and it had no affect whatsoever. Getting through the barrier like this, she feared, was impossible. She even tried to use her sunray on the barrier, but a shocking realization came upon her.
"I... I can't do it!" she exclaimed as she stared fearfully at her hand. "Why can't I?" Even before the invasion, she was certain she had a good amount of the power stored in her.
After losing all of her options, she turned and flew until she was just before the Star Wisher's windshield. Within the aircraft was a microphone that could clearly pick up Sunshine's voice. "I've lost my sun power, and the wall--I don't know if it's magic or what, but I can't break it!"
Her long eyebrows etched her worried face.

Green Bone heard the sword speak, wait a talking sword?? Even he couldn't fathom the meaning of the sword's words but he watched Sunshine try to pierce the barrier "Hey let me try" he barked toward Sunshine before hovering close to the barrier "Good thing it's not yellow" he said before his ring glowed as he formed the construct of a cannon from it, it fires but to Green Bone's surprise the shot did nothing to the barrier "What the?? Even my ring can't dent it!" he growled, something was off about this barrier if he can't pierce it.
"This isn't good.." Green Bone muttered

The elderly yet powerful hero's eyes widened and he grunted in shock when the sword actually started talking. But as the sword continued to speak, the Balloonist's eyes narrowed, the muscles behind his bushy eyebrows tightened, and he gritted his false teeth. He was disgusted by the sword and its hostile words.
"So, that's what you are, then? Is the 'Smithy Gang' from outer space?" He didn't speak loud enough to receive an answer, though. And even if his accusation was shouted, he doubted the sword would have bothered answering.
He was already angry at the alien and the grave news, but he only grew more agitated as he watched Sunshine and the Green Bone's attempts to penetrate the visible barrier, but failed. He used his ring to form a giant, blue fist and smash at the barrier with great might. He grunted and winced at the force as the fist struck the barrier. And, as he expected, the strike didn't amount to anything. No dent, no smear, nothing--it was like he hadn't touched the barrier at all.
The Balloonist flew to the golden-haired teenager's side and also looked into the Star Wisher. "We gotta think of something else, everybody. This isn't working."

Duck Avenger jolted in his seat when the sword spoke. Thankfully, the Star Wisher didn't lose altitude because of the pilot's spasm. The waterfowl blinked in disbelief after the sword said, 'Halt! Who goes there?' He pointed timidly, baffled by the sword's ability to speak. Though he had battled with kooky characters in the past, this particular sword astonished him.
"There's something you don't see every day," was all he could comment, before the sword continued to speak.
After the sword's tough talk, Duck Avenger glared at the sword, and at the visible barrier that was before them. He only gritted his teeth when Sunshine, the Green Bone, and the Balloonist all tried to damage the barrier, and not one of them could succeed. The Avenger slammed his right clenched fist on his right arm rest.
"Doggone it!" He was really mad now. "How are we supposed'ta get in there? Maybe if I shoot it with one of our missiles?" His suggestion was transmitted through the microphone, so the flying Leaguers could hear him.

Sunshine turned to watch the Green Bone and the Balloonist's attempt at penetrating the barrier. Unfortunately, they were as successful as her, which was to say, not at all. She spun to face the Star Wisher again when she heard Duck Avenger from within, and she shook her head when the duck suggesting trying to blast the barrier with a missile.
"But, I don't think that will work. Didn't you see? Green Bone tried that, but as you can see..." Sunshine faced the barrier once more, her hair billowing. Even though the Star Wisher and the team members who could fly were high above the ground, Sunshine folded her arms on her chest and stared at the barrier as though she were standing on the ground.
"What can we do?"

Duck Avenger hated being wrong (which was often), and he hated admitting his shortcomings even more. But Sunshine was right; firing a missile at the barrier would have been pointless, because the barrier was unlike anything all of them had ever seen. Even Paradox's magic probably couldn't have surpassed this.
The Avenger threw his hands up in frustration, but gripped the steering wheel in time to keep it steady. (The wheel wasn't completely circular, though.) He grumbled under his breath, and only he knew his exact words, which was beneficial, because he said some words that weren't polite. After a minute of thinking, Duck Avenger groaned.
"Let's just land the Star Wisher. We'll think of a different approach, but let's get outta here. Besides, we're wasting fuel from doing nothing."
This was a statement, not a suggestion; he turned the Star Wisher and made it known that he was carrying out his idea. He brought the Star Wisher to a clearing in the city: an outdoor basketball court, within a tall fence. The Star Wisher safely landed on the painted floor, and the duck turned off the engine. He unbuckled his safety belt, opened the rear hatch, and walked down the ramp. He waited for his teammates to meet with him.

She-Wolf was the second person to leave the Star Wisher after its landing. She emerged shortly after Duck Avenger, taking brisk steps out of the vehicle, as if she was in a hurry to escape its confines. She stood outside the ship, fists clenched, and fixed her gaze upon the tower and sword. She hadn't expected the sword to be a sentient creature, at all, and felt a chill down her spine as she listened to its booming voice... but the fact that it could speak only told San that they were up against a truly formidable force, indeed - unlike any they had faced before.
There was no getting past that barrier, she gathered. Not even the mighty Sunshine could break through... things seemed bleak. And San, frankly, felt helpless in all of this - a feeling that greatly aggravated her. Her clenched fists trembled at her side, and as she gritted her teeth they formed into sharp fangs as a result of her agitation.
"Dammit," she harshly muttered under her breath, in an attempt to release anger and keep her fiery temper from making her do something rash. She almost wanted to hit the Star Wisher in frustration, but knew better than that and held herself back... she wasn't in the mood to put up with Duck Avenger's scolding, anyhow. As she glared up at the floating sword, however, her frustration was slowly replaced by intrigue. She thought about what the sword was talking about... the "Smithy Gang."
"...." After a short silence, she turned to her comrades - her fury more or less faded, but her face as stern and harsh as ever. "Maybe we can't get past that barrier yet... but, whoever that sword was talking about... the Smithy Gang... we need to find out more about them." Her gaze turned to the surrounding Epcot City, bleak and gray from the thick blanket of clouds in the sky. "Some of them could already be lurking in the city."

The Green Bone hovered in the air then landed by the Star Wisher. "That barrier must be reinforced somehow, but what worries me is that sword said something about a Smithy Gang." Green Bone looked at his allies again showing concern. "We might have a major fight on our hands or in my case paws." The emerald dalmatian said to his teammates

Not long after the Star Wisher had landed the sound of distant sirens grew ever closer. Anyone in Epcot City would recognize the sound of police sirens, though more than a few patrons would likely have been too distracted by the arrival of the great sword, and its barrier, to have noticed that said sirens had been ominously absent until now. But, whatever the reason behind their delay, the members of the ECPD were rapidly approaching.
In no time at all the speeding squad cars rounded the street corner into plain sight, their blue-and-red bubble lights flashing, their sirens blaring loudly. The vehicles all screeched to a halt not far from the basketball court where the Dream League's impressive craft had landed, the sirens ceasing and the uniformed police officers throwing open the doors of their vehicles and promptly rushing out into the street.
A moment later, another vehicle sped around the corner. This one was not a usual squad car, however. It looked like a civilian vehicle, but featured a small bubble light fixated haphazardly on the roof, signifying that it was either an undercover officer or a detective, rather than the standard police. When the driver's side door opened and Detective Maui Mallard, clad in his red Hawaiian shirt and blue cap, stepped out, the indication was clearly the latter.
It would have, at first, seemed as though the ECPD (it looked like all, or at least most, of the station were present) were there to assist the Dream League. It was plausible; after all, in a crisis such as this the police could use all the help they could get, as backup from the borders beyond Epcot City were not applicable due to the barrier. But, as the officers began to unholster their weapons, something was obviously very wrong. They all clutched their weapons and ducked down, or crouched behind their vehicles, in defensive combat positions. But they weren't facing the sword, and they weren't facing the 'Smithy Gang' he had spoken of to the leaguers moments earlier. They were facing the Dream League themselves.
The sound of guns cocking and being prepped to fire rattled loudly throughout the area as handguns, shotguns, and rifles were all aimed on the Dream League members. Maui Mallard himself even currently held his own handgun aimed squarely at She-Wolf.
"Do we detain them?" A sergeant asked in a dull, emotionless sort of voice. "No." Maui responded in a similar voice devoid of emotional impact. As he looked squarely at She-Wolf, the target he had chosen, his eyes displayed an eerie sheen, like a cat's in the dark. "Muramasa's orders say they are to be executed immediately." He concluded. With that having been said, the ECPD opened fire on the group of heroes, the deafening sound of gunfire drowning out all other noise in the area.

The sight was gut-wrenching: most (if not all) of Epcot City's entire police force drew their guns at the Dream League, ready to squeeze the triggers and try to kill their targets in cold blood. But most shocking of all was an old, portly beagle who stepped out of a police car. It was a beagle who, of all of the ECPD, was the closest ally of the Dream League.
It was Chief O'Hara.
The chief, like Detective Maui Mallard, had an eerie sheen that was just as abnormal as his voice. Like everyone else who was ready to kill the Dream League, O'Hara's voice was disturbingly cold and emotionless. The Dream League had all seen the Chief exude warmth and jolliness, so to hear O'Hara's voice have absolutely no compassion might have been frightening.
"Positioning. Open fire." O'Hara, on cue, took out his handgun, held it steady with both hands, aimed for Duck Avenger's chest, and pulled the trigger.

Sunshine landed on the basketball court beside the Star Wisher. She folded her arms on her willowy chest and watched as Duck Avenger, She-Wolf, and then Sir Pendragon exited the aircraft. Thankfully, She-Wolf expressed an excellent idea, which was backed up by the Green Bone. The Ray of Hope, pleased with the suggestion, smiled and nodded.
"Yes, you're right! If we find and combat the Smithy Gang, then maybe we can breach Khan's Tower, and save Epcot!" She brought her hands up closer to her face and clenched them into fists. "And we can do it, if we believe in ourselves and work together!" She was passionate in her speech, but her optimism was interrupted by the blaring cacophony of police sirens.
Most, if not all, of the Epcot City Police Department surrounded the basketball court, and stepped out of their vehicle. Sunshine smiled at the police, relieved to see backup. Not everyone in the police force was as receptive of the Dream League as the outspoken Chief O'Hara, but to see them here was a huge relief.
Until the guns were drawn and aimed squarely at her and the other Dreamers. Sunshine's smile had vanished in an instant, and she gasped loudly when the weapons were drawn. Fear overcame her, and she felt chills coarse through her body. A duck detective was obviously aiming his gun at She-Wolf, and even Chief O'Hara had turned on the League! He aimed his gun at Duck Avenger, and the sight of all of this overwhelmed Sunshine.
"Why are you against us?!" she cried. That's when she noticed the abnormal eyes on the police, from the duck detective to O'Hara. Their eyes indicated more than their uncharacteristic tone of voice that something was terrible wrong, and that they were probably being manipulated.
Sunshine didn't have time to think about that. Just before the gunfire started, Sunshine jumped back to stand in front of She-Wolf and Duck Avenger, who were thankfully very close together. Sunshine literally used herself as a makeshift shield, as normal bullets didn't penetrate her fairy-blessed skin. With that said, she couldn't rely on this for any longer; she called back for the Balloonist and the Green Bone. "Shield us, please!"

Duck Avenger's thoughts were interrupted by She-Wolf. He looked up to her (she was taller) and smiled widely. Now there was an idea! "Yeah!" he erupted with a vigorous nod. "Let's look around and see if we can find the Smithy Gang." Sunshine made a similar suggestion, and the Avenger nodded at her encouragement. "You're starting to sound like a Saturday morning hero, Sunshine. But you're right! Let's go!"
Then it happened. He heard police sirens, and he turned to watch the cars surround the basketball court, and the cops stepping out to face the Dream League. Sunshine stepped forward, presumably to greet them. The Avenger took a step to the side to look beyond Sunshine, to the cops. He stared at the police, watching them draw their guns and take aim. His eyes widened, and his heart leaped in his throat. Duck Avenger's feathers were white, but if he had skin like a human's, he would completely lose color. He was afraid, to say the very least.
He reacted the most when Chief O'Hara stepped out of his car. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed. Then the gunfire commenced, and Sunshine acted as a shield, blocking him and She-Wolf. He would have to thank Sunshine deeply after this, and he was already feeling guilty about the 'Saturday morning character' crack. Duck Avenger wrapped an arm around She-Wolf and pulled her close to him, so the two could stay behind Sunshine as much as they could.
Duck Avenger was especially bothered that Chief O'Hara aimed for him. "Aw, come on, Chief!" Duck Avenger shouted from behind Sunshine. "I thought we were closer than that!" Duck Avenger didn't notice the sheen in the policemen's eyes, because he was too distracted by other eyes... the barrels of guns.

The sounds of wailing police sirens in the distance quickly caught She-Wolf's attention - possibly before anybody else noticed (besides perhaps the Green Bone), due to the wolf girl's enhanced hearing. She never could say that she was truly comfortable with Epcot City's police - to her, they usually seemed to have less interest in bringing justice to the city than making sure it was THEM who brought the justice, above all, and not the Dream League. Regardless, in such a dire situation, the Dream League would need all the help they could get, and, for once, the police cars' sirens were a blessing to hear rather than a nuisance.
However, She-Wolf lowered her eyebrows in confusion as she kept her eyes on the cars, and the many officers that emerged from them. Something seemed wrong... none of the men, dogs or ducks were approaching the Dream League. They simply darted behind their vehicles and ducked down to hide...
The sounds of dozens of guns clicking in preparation of firing soon made things quite clear to She-Wolf. Her hairs stood on edge and her muscles tensed at the strange and jarring sight of the entire police force holding them all at gunpoint, and she felt a jolt in her spine as she noticed one of their weapons was pointed directly at her - it was being held by that duck detective that they've seen every now and then. Quickly, however, San picked up on something odd, besides the fact that Maui Mallard was pointing a gun at her... it was his eyes. They had an unearthly glow about them... And as She-Wolf's eyes took brief glances at the other officers, the portly Chief included, she noticed that they all had that ominous sheen in their eyes.
Before she could think about this any further, the entire police force opened fire on the League. She-Wolf was prepared to bound away to the side, in hopes of dodging the bullet aimed at her, but quickly planted her feet back on the ground as she noticed Sunshine leap in front of her. She-Wolf's eyes widened in fear. "Sunshine!!" she shouted, but was quick to realize that she needn't worry about her companion too much... She-Wolf had forgotten that Sunshine's skin was bulletproof. Regardless, it gave her a fright to see her friend leap out in front of a barrage of bullets like that.
As Duck Avenger held onto She-Wolf to keep her close behind their human shield, without a second thought, she, too, held the comparatively short duck close. She was more than grateful for Sunshine's act of defense, but she was concerned about just how long she could take that assault... As San and the duck hid behind her, however, she caught another glimpse of the eerily shimmering eyes of Maui Mallard, and made sure to point it out to her teammates.
"Everyone, look at their eyes! They aren't themselves!" she exclaimed, shouting harshly over the cacophony of gunfire and ricochets, holding onto the feeling in her gut that what she had said was the case... it was the only explanation that made sense.

The Balloonist had set foot on the basketball court in near sync with Sunshine and the Green Bone. He stood beside Sir Pendragon and remained mostly silent during his teammates' conversation. He nodded in agreement at She-Wolf and Sunshine. He liked the idea of finding this so-called Smithy Gang and finding much-needed answers.
"What kinda name is the Smithy Gang anyway?"
His question wasn't answered, because he heard the police sirens. He was thankful that his hearing aid was perfect today, because the sound of the sirens was music to his ears. He watched the cars park outside the basketball court and smiled as the cops exited their cars. "Thank goodness!" he exclaimed happily. "It's nice to see the cops helping... us... out?"
The Balloonist's bushes of eyebrows furrowed, and wrinkles tainted his face, as his face twisted in confusion. Why were the cops getting behind their cars for what looked like cover, and aimed their guns--
"Aaahh!"
The Balloonist brought his clenched ring hand up and, in a flash, covered himself with a blue shell powered by his ring. He wasn't selfish, but he had to save himself before he could save his team. He nodded as he, too, made a shield to protect his teammates. "You don't have to tell me twice!"
His barrier, combined with the Green Bone's, created a large wall, and the Dream League was safe... but not for long, he feared. His free hand gripped his rigid arm, and he clenched his false teeth, as he focused on keeping the shield up. "I can't do this forever!"
She-Wolf pointed out that something was wrong with the police force's eyes, and that was somehow related to the cops' abnormal behavior. "I hope you're right! I'd hate to deal with this again after we take care of the Smithy Gang!
Then an idea popped into the old man's head. He gasped softly in realization, and shouted for his teammates. "Everybody, get in the Starspeeder! Let's get outta here!"

As Duck Avenger's cheek was pressed against She-Wolf, he shivered in fear and gulped, thankful that Sunshine and the two power-ringed heroes behind them had saved their skin. He would have to thank them after this was all over! But no situation was bad enough for Duck Avenger to make a cheeky comment. "I heard of police brutality, but this is ridiculous!"
The Balloonist shouted the best idea he heard all day: get into the Starspeeder and seek cover. Perfect! Wait, Starspeeder? The duck looked back to the old man giving a sour look. "It's Star Wisher! And you're right--let's go!" He grinned up to She-Wolf. "Sorry, I have'ta let go." He released his grip on She-Wolf and held out his keys. Comically, they resembled car keys in more way than one; he clicked on the beeper, the Star Wisher made a car-like BEEP BEEP! sound, and the rear hatch opened. He ran inside, followed by Sir Pendragon, who, thankfully, had a large suit of armor to protect him from the bullets, before the shields were created. Both sat in their appropriate seats and buckled their safety belts.

The bullets did not penetrate Sunshine, but rather scrunched drastically after colliding against her skin, and simply dropped to the ground. Sunshine thanked the three good fairies for their gift every day, even if they couldn't hear her, and today was no exception: she was relieved to have helped save the lives of Duck Avenger and She-Wolf, whom she heard speak behind her. As the bullets struck her repeatedly, Sunshine winced as she watched the policemen. They were under someone else's control, but who was responsible? Sunshine initially thought it was Puppet Master, who had battled with She-Wolf months ago. But one of the brainwashed cops mentioned a Muramasa. Who, or what, was Muramasa? Maybe Muramasa was somehow related to the Smithy Gang...
"Thank you!" Sunshine yelled, directed to the Green Bone and the Balloonist. Their assistance was invaluable, and Sunshine relaxed. But she knew the shield couldn't protect them forever. That's when she turned just in time for the Balloonist to suggest using the erroneously named 'Starspeeder' to escape. Sunshine nodded in agreement, and as Sir Pendragon and Duck Avenger entered the aircraft, Sunshine looked dead serious to She-Wolf and spoke with urgency.
"Get inside, now! We've got to get out of here!" Considering that Sunshine could lift a car over her head, she was careful to shove her friend in the direction of the aircraft. She didn't mean to be rude, of course--she just wanted her friend safe. She would fly in the air when all of the flightless heroes entered the safety of the Star Wisher, flying alongside it.

As Duck Avenger 'apologized' to She-Wolf for letting go with a cheeky grin, the girl only glowered down at him in annoyance. How this duck could manage to wisecrack even at a time like this was beyond her...
No time to get upset about that, though. Thanks to the barriers provided by The Balloonist and Green Bone, they could all move about freely, and She-Wolf began to hastily approach and board the Star Wisher. Before she even got a few steps in, however, she felt a powerful shove from behind her - Sunshine, putting her companions above herself as always. Considering the girl's immense physical strength, however, She-Wolf was surprised at how comparatively gentle she was in urging her onto the ship - but it was still more than enough to force her to move her legs. She-Wolf was slightly taken aback, but quickly began moving in agreement with Sunshine's words, and finally climbed aboard into the ship's confines.

The Balloonist was happy to see She-Wolf, Pendragon, and Duck Avenger hurry inside the Star Wisher. He was glad he yelled his idea when he did. This situation was looking like it was starting to get under control. When the Green Bone commented on their combined power, the old man smiled very slightly.
"Good boy! You really are man's best friend, you know that?" His compliment was sincere.
When the Star Wisher filled up, the hatch closed, and Duck Avenger started the engine. In an instant, it took off into the air. "All right, let's go!" he called to the Green Bone and Sunshine. Sunshine, thankfully, had bulletproof skin. The Balloonist changed his shield into a shell that encased him, and he took flight alongside Sunshine and the Star Wisher.

The Green Bone nodded toward The Balloonist's compliment as he saw him and Sunshine take to the air, he followed as his shield absorbed into his aura forming a shell around his small frame. "Man what the heck is going on here? Somehow we ended up as public enemy #1!" he barked

The ECPD were relentless in their onslaught of gunfire, pausing only long enough to replenish ammo, when necessary. Deafening sound of gunshots drowned out everything else, so no one bothered to try and speak when the group boarded their aircraft in an attempt to escape; they merely continued firing mercilessly.
The Star Wisher became the prime target once they were all aboard, as the ECPD quickly ascertained that bullets had little effect on Sunshine, the Balloonist, or the Green Bone. Most hits against Gyro's impressive invention merely caused superficial damage, but one particular shot hit a sweet-spot, it seemed: a primary engine. It erupted with a loud bursting sound. Flames and smoke billowed from the damaged area. The majority of the police officers continued firing, but Maui Mallard saw that they still had a reasonable window of opportunity for escape.
Ceasing his own gunfire, the medium-boiled detective dashed forward. He sprinted with such speed that it seemed as though his webbed feet barely even touched the ground; with the grace and agility of one who had training beyond normal police requirements. Under normal circumstances Maui was very careful to avoid using his ninja training in his Maui Mallard alter-ego, but in his current state his orders superseded any other priority: and his orders were to dispatch the Dream League.
With total disregard in regard to using his ninja agility and acrobatics in a very non-ninja role, he quickly gained upon the fleeing aircraft. Leaping onto a wrecked car (the city was already going to hell, it seemed, as said wrecked car was left haphazardly in the middle of the street, parked diagonally between the right and left lanes) he used it as a means to boost his jump. Reaching out, he grabbed onto the rear of the Star Wisher, then skillfully flipped himself up onto the roof.
Keeping to a low crouch and firmly holding onto the vehicle with his right hand, his left still clutching his pistol in a death-grip, he made his way to the cockpit. He peered inside, focusing squarely on Duck Avenger, his glazed, reflective eyes meeting the eyes of the pilot. He aimed his gun from the opposite side of the glass and began firing off shots.

Duck Avenger's eyes were narrowed and he gritted his teeth as he piloted the Star Wisher, trying his best to get the Dream League out of harm's way. His knuckles gripped the steering wheel and he talked to himself. "Come on, just a little more...!"
Unfortunately, a flawless get away would be impossible. One of the primary engines erupted, and the Star Wisher shook violently. It became steadier, but it was incrementally losing altitude.
"Darn it!" Duck Avenger shouted so loudly, specks of saliva spewed from his mouth. "One of the engines is busted! We gotta land! How could this get any wor--AAHH!" He jumped in his seat, but he was restrained by the safety belt. He was spooked to see detective Maui Mallard, with his Magnum, P.I.-esque shirt, a blue baseball cap, and a gun. The detective began shooting at the glass. Fortunately, the glasses were bulletproof, but the detective could still cause trouble.
"Help!" he yelled for all to hear. Even though the bullets wouldn't touch him, he still flinched with each shot.

Sunshine gasped and jolted in the air when one of the Star Wisher's primary engines erupted. She happened to be close to it, so she was shocked and concerned about the well-being of her friends. "Oh, dear!" she exclaimed worriedly. But something else was wrong: the duck detective had jumped on board the Star Wisher somehow. How did he do that?! He started shooting at the glass, and Duck Avenger cried for help.
Sunshine, noble and pure, flew to the duck, grabbed him, and held onto him, above the air, beside the Star Wisher. She tried to hold him in a manner where 1) he would not fall to serious injury (or worse), and 2) he could not use his gun to shoot anyone.
"Please stop!" Sunshine begged as she held onto Maui Mallard. "I know your humanity is inside you, somewhere! You're not evil!"

Green Bone's eyes widened seeing the Star Wisher's engine erupt in flames, using his ring and some quick thinking he shot out of his ring a construct of a large fire extingusher to take care of the engine fire. "This should help out some" he said
