Real Name: Archimedes
Alias: ... Archimedes.
Age: Unknown, but has certainly been around for a while.
Species: Owl, probably the European species Strix aluco
Sex: Male
Nationality: English
Alignment: Good
Affiliated With: The Dream League, especially Paradox and Sir Pendragon.
Status: Active
Physical Description: A small and stout little owl with scruffy, tawny brown feathers, an orange beak and talons, yellow eyes, and bushy eyebrows which are usually lowered grouchily. Wears no clothing or accessories.
Abilities and Powers: Archimedes' special powers all involve his eyes, which have been enhanced in numerous ways. Possibly his most conspicuous power of his is the ability to form highly damaging laser beams that are fired from his pupils. These beams amount to hundreds of degrees in temperature, and are useful as weapons as well as for any case in which intense heat is needed.
Another of Archimedes' eye-related abilities is X-ray vision - that is, the power to see through given objects, such as walls, floors, or anything that isn't too thick for the owl's eyes to see through.
Weaknesses: Despite his many mental and visual abilities, Archimedes is not more physically fit than the average owl,
Short-tempered, often cranky, and sensitive; somewhat haughty, often viewing himself as smarter than others (which is often true, but rude, nonetheless...); incredibly stubborn.
Character Information (Personality & Motivation): Archimedes is the long-lasting familiar and companion of Merlin, the self-proclaimed World's Most Powerful Wizard. It is presumed that it is Merlin who was responsible for granting Archimedes his impressive intelligence and speaking ability, as owls are normally not too bright and cannot speak. Archimedes joined Merlin in educating the young Arthur, who would go on to become king of Camelot.
One night, Merlin was visited by fate, and directed him, Arthur, and Archimedes the owl to the future, specifically Epcot City, to join the Dream League. In the Dream League, Merlin is known as Paradox, Arthur is known as Sir Pendragon, and Archimedes is known as... Archimedes.
Archimedes is at least as wise and knowledgeable as his human companion - perhaps even moreso, the owl would argue. It is usually he who manages to help keep the absent-minded Paradox on track and is the voice of reason to the impulsive wizard. He and Paradox are quite often at wit's end with each other and spend a lot of time squabbling, but the two are inseparable companions nonetheless, loyal to the end for each other.
Merlin might be known for having a short temper, but Archimedes' grumpiness puts the wizard's to shame. He is almost eternally cantankerous and grouchy, more often than not wearing a telltale scowl on his feathered face, and always seems annoyed by something. Indeed, he often makes it known when any Dream League members irritate him or confound him with what he views as stupidity. Underneath that hard, crusty exterior, however, there is a loyal and compassionate heart - only young Arthur has managed to bring out this side of him as of yet, however. He has a hard time trusting and getting along with the rest of the team, Paradox and Sir Pendragon aside, but deep down he knows that they aren't all that bad - and if Merlin trusts them, then Archimedes most likely has reason to, as well.
