Name: Scrooge McDuck.
Alias: The Masked Mallard, The Gentleman’s Crimefighter.
Age: 76.
Species: Anthropomorphic Disney Duck.
Sex: Male.
Nationality: Scottish.
Alignment: Good.
Affiliated With: The Dream League.
Status: Active.
Physical Description: Elderly white anthro duck, but can still easily get around by himself in spite of his age. He's built very similarly to his nephew Donald. Has prominent whiskers and a very short tuft of "hair" atop his head. Azure blue eyes.
Appearance (Dream League): A black tuxedo, a black top hat, a dark blue domino mask, a prehensile black cape that has dark blue lining on the inside, spectacles, and dark blue spats. While wearing his mask, his eyes appear entirely white.
Appearance (Outside of Costume): A blue or scarlet broadcloth coat, red spats, spectacles, and sometimes a black top hat. He sometimes carries apimp cane as well.
Abilities and Powers: Originally, relied on a utility belt containing assorted items and gadgets crafted for him by Gyro Gearloose. However, he now possesses a decided measure of super-strength and super-durability. While not as powerful as some of the other Dreamers, such as Bongo and Sunshine, a punch with all his strength behind it can still shatter concrete, and he can also withstand a great deal of physical damage before succumbing to it. However, his trademark power would probably be his good luck aura. Basically, he can alter probability, making things fall into place for himself. For example, if a villain attempted to throw a punch at him, they would end up slipping and the punch would go wild, giving Scrooge the opportunity to either retaliate or get out the way.
Has a good eye for detail; very honorable; fairly athletic and strong for a person of his advanced age; business savvy; smart; is capable of piloting a plane if necessary; has a working knowledge of several different languages, including Mayan, Spanish, German, Dutch, Mongolian, Arabic, Bengali, Finnish, and several dialects of Chinese; knowledgeable in the areas of history, archeology, and many old legends and myths.
Weaknesses: (also refer to 'Personality') Has no defense against mystical or psychic attacks; his luck only directly affects himself. Can also be greedy at times, causing him to loose sight of the things that really matter, as well as short-fused and curmudgeonly. The fact that he does not completely trust his teammates could become a source of friction between them.
Accessories: A black cane with a curved handle. Eventually, it is upgraded to include a grappling hook hidden within the handle that he can deploy to scale buildings and whatnot
Character Information (Personality & Motivation): Known as the Richest Duck In The World, Scrooge McDuck originally became the Masked Mallard in order to improve his public image, and discarded his alter ego after Lawrence Loudmouth, an overzealous television personality, tried to frame the Masked Mallard (but only after he had exposed Loudmouth for what he was).
He was forced to don his costume once again when thieves possessing inhuman powers started sabotaging his factories and the police could seemingly do nothing to stop them. After foiling the hoods himself, Scrooge came to realize that the criminal underworld and supervillains were threatening to engulf Epcot City, and appointed himself the city's protector. While battling his longtime foe Magica DeSpell one night, a spell cast by the sorceress that was intended to strip the vigilante of his vitality backfired, gifting him with the powers of superhuman durability, increased strength, and probability alteration instead. The Masked Mallard is a founding member of the Dream League, and also provided them with their headquarters, calling the sprawling mansion "a gift from his friend Scrooge McDuck".
The Masked Mallard’s nickname, “The Gentleman’s Crimefighter”, stems from his elegant and old-fashioned manner of speech, as well as his costuming. As the Masked Mallard, Scrooge speaks in a lighter version of his Glaswegian burr. The Masked Mallard can be somewhat theatrical, though never in a hammy way.
While he likes most of his fellow heroes, Scrooge doesn’t fully trust them just yet (though that eventually changes). He tries hard to keep his own identity totally separate from the Masked Mallard, but since heroics is something that he has taken up late in his lifetime, he isn’t quite polished at keeping the two personalities distinct (compared to someone like Batman, who is a separate identity from Bruce Wayne). So sometimes shades of Scrooge’s personality do bleed through when he’s in costume.
