It was nearing evening in the jungle, the pleasant noises of the day time birds and animals fading away to the more humbled noises of the night. Soft chirps of insects and the occasional murmur of a group of monkeys. The blue hues of the evening overtook the area, the small silent cave becoming lost to the blanket of night's darkness. Even if one were to look straight at the mountain's face- the cave would remain obscured. Only those who knew it's location could see the darker blot that was the entrance to the deep alcove.
The serene mood was shattered rather violently as a bright blue band of energy ripped through the air. Several birds startled awake, fleeing their nests as a silhouetted figure stepped through the glowing doorway. With a bright flash the tear healed itself, leaving the area in a dim light once again. The figure did not seem perturbed by the darkness as he glanced around.
"Now...if I were a gilded crown, where would I hide?"
"Shiny shiny...in there?"
The two figures glanced towards the rock face- a hidden smirk crossing between them as they stepped through the hidden door, swallowed by the darkness of the cave.

Another, more slender figure stood up as the man vanished into the mountain. The red stone of her staff illuminating her dark skin and white hair.
"I told you. This is a true threat to the jungle."
"Not just the jungle." Another voice called up from behind her.
La startled and turned around, her eyes narrowing as she discovered who it was, "You should focus on the now, Grub."

"You think you're the only one that doesn't stay home when you're supposed to?"
The lion leapt from branch to branch until he stood on the one the Leopard Queen occupied. Auburn eyes narrowed as he peered through the darkness; ready to pounce to the ground before he felt a hand at his shoulder.
"Wait. There is something about that cave you should be aware of."

The cave was rather sparse inside, and after a moment of looking about Mozenrath realized that this 'cave' was in fact a large and crumbling temple. The wizard tapped his chin, with little light he had no idea just what was in here. Well, it made no matter if anyone saw him in here. The only things around were monkeys and birds anyways. He held his gloved hand up, a small ball of light forming in the palm.
"Much better now~, where is that crown."
As he stepped further in, the temple was washed in the blue glow of his light. Nothing seemed to be worth anything to the mage, gold and jewels held no interest for him.
When his light hit what was at the center most of the room, his interest was peaked.
"Very interesting." He stepped up carefully to the cold unreflective mirror. His fleshed hand ran over the cold glass and he narrowed his eyes, "It's...like ice."

Simba glanced up at the woman, wary to any advice she might have to offer. What was so important about some dilapidated temple that had a bunch of junk stashed inside? He had half a mind to ignore her and head in but something about the eerie darkness surrounding the entrance made him pause enough to re-think that idea.
"...alright, I'll bite." He sat on the branch, tail flickering impatiently around him, "What's so special about that place?"

*Tarzan had followed Queen La deep into the jungle, as he'd heard from a few other animals that they'd spotted her, and he tracked her as he went. He wasn't quite sure what she wanted, but knowing La's usual intentions, it...probably wasn't something good. He hid in the canopy, listening in to the conversation between her and Simba. The apeman peers over La to see the darkened entrance to the temple to see what they're talking about...something he'd never seen before in the jungle, oddly enough. But if something was indeed affecting the jungle as well as the Savannah, he would need to know. Unafraid, he steps out from his hiding spot.*
I would like to know, as well.

The leopard Queen's eyes widen and she glanced up, a sly smile coming across her face at the sight of the apeman. She leaned lightly on her staff, glancing at the hidden entrance. Of course eyes trained to the night could now see the darker passage that lead into the dead temple.
"A strange stone lies inside, made of silvered glass and ice." Her face scrunched up in distaste at the thought of what was held behind those mirrors. "Inside is...a creature. She looks as us, Tarzan, but her eyes..." For a moment a rare terror filled the great warrior queen, but it vanished quickly as she shook her head, "She is not one I wish to be let back out into the wilds."

Simba's ear twitched and he glanced up with a grin at Tarzan. Looks like some habits really did die hard; sneaking out at night seemed to be one of them. He sat patiently, listening to the other human as he squinted into the darkness. A woman trapped in a mirror? That's what all this worry is about?
He stood up and stretched, moving along the branch to a point he could jump from, "If that much danger is in that place, I don't think a guy with a creepy eel should be in there all alone." With a toss of his head to clear his mane from his muzzle he jumped down silently, padding softly towards the entrance.
