The teenage Prince Ferdinand wandered among the trees, enjoying a leisurely stroll through the forest. It was absolutely beautiful out, with the sun shining warmly through the trees and the lovely singing of the birds echoing throughout. In his hand was a basket, one with which he planned to gather wildflowers for Snow White. Ferdinand knew how much his wife loved flowers, and he decided he'd surprise her with a gift of them. So, while he was going along, he was also searching for the perfect blooms.
He'd pick one here and there, and soon enough, the Prince's basket was full of the loveliest wildflowers one would ever see. Satisfied, Ferdinand sat down under a nearby tree to rest. Placing the basket beside him, he leaned against the tree's trunk and closed his eyes. He began to sing a wordless melody, and its lovely sound echoed throughout. The animals of the forest heard the Prince's singing, and they were immediately enchanted by it. The birds left their nests and those on the ground left their hiding places, all following the sound of Ferdinand's voice.
They found the handsome youth under the tree, and all gathered around to listen. He opened his eyes and saw them, giving them the warmest smile as he continued his song. A little rabbit crawled up onto the Prince's lap, and a sparrow landed on his shoulder. Ferdinand closed his eyes again and began to pet the rabbit gently as he kept singing.

Bambi had wandered some distance away from his usual territory, today.
He remained unsure what exactly had compelled him to explore parts of the forest he had never explored before, but didn't even stop to think about what had compelled him at all. Feeling like a curious fawn, again, he just got that urge to see what else was out there. He knew (or felt like he knew) that he could find his way back easily, and even if he didn't, he probably wouldn't have any worries about exploring this new territory. Thinking back, Bambi wished he had brought Thumper along... he would have loved to explore with him, again.
By now, Bambi had reached the edge of a large clearing, which was filled with wildflowers that smelled amazing... although too far away to see them, Bambi sure could smell them. He'd never smelled these types, before, though... He wondered how they'd taste...
The young buck's thoughts were interrupted by a strange sound that he suddenly heard; rapidly, his head jerked up to look in its direction, big ears twisting towards the sound. It was a sound unlike any he had ever heard... although he was certain it was some sort of animal. The animal had an odd voice, constantly changing in pitch and tone, and it spoke in a dialect that Bambi couldn't quite understand. Still, something about its voice... it seemed almost enchanting to the deer. It was difficult for him to resist listening to it.
Bambi had no idea of discerning whether or not it was friendly... but, curiosity persistently driving him forward, he succumbed to his urge to discover what was making this noise, and slowly crept towards the clearing, making sure to be as quiet as possible, in case it was a predator.
Eventually, Bambi got a good look at it, and was rather surprised at its bizarre appearance. It was... hairless, apparently, except for the top of its head. Although it lacked hair, it did have a coat of some kind, that was certainly colorful. However, was was the most striking to Bambi was that other animals showed no fear of this stranger at all... in fact, it seemed like they genuinely liked him. Bambi suddenly felt more comfortable about this creature, at least a little.
Eyes wide with amazement, Bambi was in awe of this strange new animal. It seemed almost alien to him; he felt like he should fear it, but, instead, desired to get a closer look at it, his curiosity growing by the second. With hoofsteps light as feathers, Bambi snuck even closer to the tree the animal was resting by, trying to get a better look without letting the creature see it.
... This animal couldn't possibly be... Man? It didn't seem half as vicious and scary as everyone said... It couldn't be.

The Prince's voice continued to enchant the animals, and it wasn't long before the birds began to join in. He opened his eyes and looked up at them, harmonizing his voice with theirs. How beautiful they sounded! Never again would there be such a lovely display. The song continued for sometime longer before it finally came to its end. Ferdinand thanked the birds and told them how gifted they were before turning his attention back to the creatures which were gathered around him.
"Did you like that?" he asked, a warm smile on his face. The twittering, chirping, and chattering of the animals told him they did. He laughed heartily. "How glad I am that you did! I do love seeing you all happy." After that, Ferdinand became more relaxed, leaning himself back against the tree and continuing to pet the rabbit which had, by now, curled itself up in his lap. Another bird landed on his other shoulder, and a young fawn managed to squeeze himself under the boy's arm. The kindly prince began to hum softly, enticing the creatures once more. The fawn snuggled against him, and other animals closed their eyes and stood still.
A feeling then came upon Ferdinand that told him there was someone (or something) watching them. He ceased his humming, causing the animals to open their eyes and look around. The Prince called out to the presence, his voice kind and gentle. "You needn't be frightened. I'm a friend."

Bambi just watched with silent curiosity... well, this definitely was curious! This strange colorful animal seemed to be friends with all of the forest residents... even a fellow deer nuzzled up to him, to Bambi's surprise. And somehow... they understood its language? They must have been very familiar with this stranger...
Suddenly, Bambi's long ears jerked upwards and his eyes became wide. Did... did this animal know he was here? How? Bambi was certain he hadn't made a sound... However, he actually didn't worry too much. Although he had never seen this animal before, he was without doubt that it was harmless, even friendly. Besides, Bambi confidently thought, he could probably outrun that two-legged creature easily if it tried to make him its dinner...
Still cautious, Bambi crept carefully out of the darkness of the forest, revealing himself before Ferdinand. As curious as he was, he waited for the creature's reaction before making his own.

Ferdinand waited in silence for the presence to reveal itself. He knew full well he and his animal friends weren't alone. Even so, the youth could tell in his heart that the presence was a friendly one. It was just...just a feeling he had.
His blue eyes went wide as a magnificent buck emerged from the bushes. It had brown fur, with large antlers and dark eyes. If it were human, it would most certainly have been much older than himself. Even so, it was still a younger sort. The Prince's eyes were not wide in fear, but in awe. One rarely ever got to see such beautiful creatures.
Placing the rabbit in his arms onto one of the tree's large roots, Ferdinand rose to his feet and removed his hat as a sign of respect to his elder. "It's quite...thrilling to see such a magnificent creature like yourself, Sir." he said.

( Mind if a hyper little bird joins you? ;D )
The aracuan ran gleefully trough the forest, searching for a potential victims for his many jokes and pranks.
However, the bird stopped dead in track, and for once became silent as he became aware of another tune nearby.
A curious little noise escaped him as he tilted his head the way the sweet melody came from, finding it strange, yet unfamiliarly beautiful. Prrrrrrh..?
In fact it was impossible to resist, making the bird forget his former destination as he followed the sound to a clearing overgrown with flowers.
Spotting the man and the deer a mischievous smile crossed the tiny bird`s face as he an over to them, making his presence known loudly and gleefully.

The eyes of the deer and the prince met, and Bambi's were locked right onto Ferdinand's, wide and inquisitive. He did feel much safer, now... it was evident that this creature was definitely a friend, and Bambi no longer felt any fear, as well as considerably less caution. Still, this odd creature... there was something about him. Somehow, Bambi felt a connection to him... in fact, the same connection that the other forest-dwellers felt with the prince. It was strange... but Bambi somehow felt like he could actually understand Ferdinand... and even talk with him. The silent young buck, before long, trusted this strange feeling he felt... and spoke.
"... Hello," he muttered in a soft voice, gentle yet mature. But any further greetings were interrupted; an even more bizarre (and much, much louder) voice made itself clear, suddenly. Bambi's entire body jolted up, and his ears and head twisted all around in confusion and fear. What was making that nosie?!

(Welcome aboard! ;D)
When Ferdinand's blue eyes met with Bambi's brown ones, there was indeed a friendliness in the boy's eyes. He held no ill intentions, only wanting to win the buck's trust and friendship. A gentle smile was still present on his face as he spoke. "I assure you, good sir, that you've nothing to fear from a mere boy like myself. I'm quite friendly." The Prince's efforts seemed to pay off, for Bambi spoke.
It was no doubt surprising to Ferdinand that an animal could speak, but he didn't let his momentary shock show. Rather, he nodded and was about to speak when a loud noise frightened Bambi. Ferdinand tried to calm the buck. "It's alright, Sir. I'm sure we've nothing to fear." As he looked on a branch above them, there sat perched a red bird. Its body was a lighter red than the tuft of hair on its head, and it wore a white shirt.
The boy chuckled and spoke to the Bird. "Why, hello there, friend!" he greeted cheerfully. "How are you on this fine day?"
