Just north of Tarrytown, New York, was Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow is a quiet, peaceful town, and yet inexplicably foreboding, for it abounds in haunted spots, twilight tales, and local superstition. One famous legend, of course, concerned a schoolmaster named Ichabod Crane, and his encounter with...
It was another warm, quiet day in Sleepy Hollow. The village had activity in the square, but as usual hardly a thing was boisterous. Sleepy Hollow would be the ideal retreat, from the perspective of a man who had never visited the town, let alone was aware of the local ghost stories.

Mickey Mouse climbed up the stairs in the old inn, one creaky step at a time. He had heard the tale of the legendary horseman in Sleepy Hollow but the stories hardly bothered him; after all- he was a member of the Ajax Ghost Exterminators. Besides, after such a long day of travelling to the little town for a brief holiday, he was exhausted and then only thing he craved was a soft bed and a good night’s rest. The bed in his room certainly looked comfortable enough for that and before long, Mickey found himself drifting off into a deep sleep.

A very loud bang from next door was heard. To add salt to the wound, the noise came from the wall just behind Mickey Mouse's head. Of course! The wall nearest to the mouse was the wall that was struck with a tremendous noise. And after that noise, a distinctive shriek was heard: that of Donald Duck. The duck stomped inside his room and could be heard from next door to Mickey's room. Donald, as usual, was yelling rapidly, to the point where it was hard to make out what he said.

Mickey Mouse sprung right up, the cacophony from behind the wall nearly frightening him to death. Heart thundering against his chest, Mickey tossed his head left and right several times before coming to the conclusion that the sound had not come from his room. The sudden and all too familiar shriek of his best pal, Donald Duck, suggested that the solution could be found in the room next to his.
“Donald?” the mouse said quietly. He had no idea the mallard would be here.
He threw back the covers, stepped down into his slippers and hustled out into the hall. Mickey glanced both ways to see if any of the other patrons had woken up, but if they had, no one had bothered to come out of their rooms to see what the matter was. After quickly adjusting his nightcap, Mickey went and rapped sharply on the door of the room next to his.
“Hello? Are you all right in there?”

Donald's yelling was cut off when he heard his door, and the voice behind it. "Huh?" Webbed footsteps could be heard; the duck obviously hurried to his door and opened it. Donald did not expect to find Mickey here. He was here on a trip, and he booked a room in an inn, and his good friend was also here? What were the odds?!
"Mickey!" Donald exclaimed with an opened smile, humorously the polar opposite of the duck's attitude not thirty seconds ago. "Well, I'll be a son of a gun! You're here, too?"

Though still concerned over what that clatter had been, Mickey could not help but smile and answer with a small laugh, “Uh-huh! I needed some peace and quiet, just a small getaway, and a travel brochure said that Sleepy Hollow was just the place I was looking for!” Another grin, “Apparently it was right; I sure am glad to see my best pal here!”
The mouse tried to peer around Donald to see if he could spot the cause of the commotion and his old worry returned. “Donald, what was that noise coming from your room a moment ago?”
