Post by Royal Pain on Jul 24, 2011 14:56:07 GMT -8
Real Name: Her original name is Sue Tenny, though for a variety of reasons she had to change it to Gwen Grayson.
Alias: Royal Pain
Age: Technically she should be in her late thirties or early fourties, but due to an 'accident' is in the neighborhood of 18-20 right now.
Species: Superhuman (born with her abilities, rather than obtaining them through exterior means.)
Sex: Female
Nationality: American
Alignment: Mostly evil, though perhaps she could turn neutral someday.
Affiliated With: At the moment she is her own villain, interested in making her own team. She'd be willing to ally hersef with others if there was some benefit to it, of course. (I could, though, see her creating and selling weapons and gadgets to those who pay her enough; especially to other villains in a secret black market kind of thing.)
Status: Active? She hasn't made herself a huge name yet in Epcot City, though she's known in other cities and plans on making herself a big name.
Physical Description (Body structure, eye color, hair color, etc.): Gwen Grayson is a pretty young woman; with a charming smile, warm brown eyes, medium-length brown hair, and what appears to be a sweet, friendly face. She looks like a young lady at the prime of her life, one finally out of highschool who has grown into the body of a woman quite nicely. But, at the same time, her appearance is nothing extraordinary. While she is pretty, she's not radiating beauty or anything- she's more or less average, which makes her less intimidating to some people, and easy to forget to others. She looks just like your typical citizen, almost a 'girl next door' type to some extents. And, while Gwen doesn't always appreciate this being attributed to her, at the same time it comes in handy for blending in and avoiding suspicion. 'Appearances can be deceiving', is definitely something that applies to her. Because, while she can come across like a sweet, thoughtful girl on the outside....on the inside, there's definitely a monster lurking.
Appearance (Dream League): Royal pain's garment of choice are a bit more complex than the typical super hero/villain costumes, simply because a lot of technology is integrated the ensemble. The costume is also quite different from her norm. While most heroes and villains of her world choose to color-coordinate their costumes with the sort of clothing they usually wear, Gwen does the exact opposite. Appearance-wise, she becomes almost an entirely different person. Her costume entirely masks her appearance, and to go a step farther, distorts her voice to sound like a man's. (to keep up disguises, of course.)
While there are obvious curves if anybody's looking carefully enough to find them, overall her costume is not obviously feminine and actually appears masculine to a degree. It's a full suit of armor, making her look like the sinister black knight out of all those fairy tales; black and grey in color, trimmed with some gold and glowing light due to the technology built into the suit.
Appearance (Outside of Costume):
Outside of costume, Gwen/Sue/Royal pain looks just like your ordinary young woman. She's pretty, with pearly whites, appealing curves, and medium-length brown hair she'll wear in a multitude of styles. Gwen wears cute clothing (often tending to choose lighter colors which, again, are a contrast to what she wears when she's playing villain.), and hardly seems like a threat or unhinged in the least. Her appearance and attitude outside of the costume often make her look like the sweet, friendly girl from next door. Nothing sinister, but at the same time, she's certainly not glamorous or very spectacular; which, helps her blend in and maintain her disguise that much more.
Abilities and Powers: Gwen is a technopath, which means that she has the ability to control and manipulate technology of any kind with her mind. This also translates into building and repairing things; because her powers require technology, she knows an awful lot about it as well, and her abilities come in handy putting things like guns, robots, etc together.
She also created her costume herself, and integrated several things into it to help make up for some of the areas she lacked in. She needs to press specific buttons on her suit, but with it she can have temporary super strength, glide for a short distance, and her personal favorite...a setting that sends bolts of electricity to zap her enemy.
Weaknesses:
Regarding the special settings on her suit, she can only use one of them at a time. When she presses the button for another, whatever she was using before is stopped. Most of them are also short-lived, though the electricity one lasts the longest out of all of them.
Egotistical and arrogant
Self-centered/selfish, and a bit of a hypocrite at times
Short temper;prone to little explosions of rage.
She can be a bit crazy at times.
Obsessive in her goals; can lose sight of some things due to this obsession, and be thrown for a loop.
She doesn't always treat her lackeys very well.
She depends on technology and her suit. Without them, she's sunk and powerless.
Consumed by her lust for vengeance, and obsession to prove her so-called brilliance.
Going along with temper, she sometimes loses her composure easily. Especially if upset, or anything that brings up bad memories of highschool comes up.
Accessories: Her costume, for one thing. Also, any trinkets she's created or stolen that she feels like carrying around. In civilian form, she tends to carry around more normal things; a purse, makeup, cellphone, music player, stuff to build upon the illusion that she's just a normal girl. Though, she always has her costume with her somewhere or nearby.
Character Information (Personality & Motivation): Though it might shock those who ever knew her as a villain, once upon a time, Gwen wasn't a selfish, evil witch. She was actually a sweet, intelligent, hopeful young lady who had a rather powerful shy streak within her...and the misfortune of having powers and interests that led her into being written off as nothing more than a lame, invisible science geek. Those were the days of Sue Tenny, Gwen's original identity; an awkward teenager with bad eyesight who needed large glasses to see, and whose powers were incredibly misunderstood by her peers. See, where Sue grew up, superheroes and villains were just part of life. Some people got their powers through exterior means, but a lot of people were born that way- and sent off to the prestigious academy known as 'Sky High' to learn how to develop and use their powers for good.
Sue was no different. When she was young, she discovered she had a gift, and quite a rare one for the city she lived in. Her parents built her up to expect greatness, instilled excitement of becoming a great superheroine within her...and all of those dreams were subsequently trampled on and shattered when she actually got to Sky High. Technopaths were not fully understood in the decade she originally grew up in, so she was shoved aside to the sidekick aka 'loser' branch of the school, picked on, looked down upon. Her achievements were seen as nothing in comparison to more 'boorish' powers like super strength and flight. Nobody cared what she could do with science and technology, it wasn't exciting or powerful enough. She was doomed to live in some hero or heroine's shadow, as their trusty ward who did nothing more than cheerlead for them and their mundane civilian errands. That, combined with bullying, created a very bitter young woman who decided to take her revenge upon the institution that had made things so unfair for students like her..and, the angrier she got, for spurning her self-proclaimed genius.
She hatched a plan to make her own school and raise supers as villains, and disappeared with another sidekick; one who came to be her most loyal ally/minion who went by the name 'stitches'. She worked on a project at the end of her years at that school and after, something she meant to use to supplement her villain academy goal. She created a machine capable of turning people into infants; and she meant to use it on the greatest superheroes sky high had ever produced, planning on raising them to be her favorite minions and the stars of her future war against super heroes. Unfortunately for her, when she tried to lure them into a trap one by one, starting with the commander, she was caught off guard by his future wife, Jetstream, and the two of them foiled her plans and broke the weapon; turning her into a baby instead.
Stitches managed to get her out of there and cause people to think she had died in the explosion, while he acted as his father and raised her until she was old enough to attend Sky High again; this time, under a different identity. She played things a little safer that time, using The Commander and Jetstream's son to get her broken weapon and lure his parents into a trap and nearly succeeded in her goals this time..but ultimately was beaten once again and sent to jail with her minions. She cooled her heels in there for a little while, but eventually broke out and decided to leave Maxville for somewhere else. She decided against ever trying the infantizing ploy again after two failures, especially when she heard there were heroes and villains in other places. Sick of Maxville and the heroes there, Gwen decided she would move into a place where nobody knew who she was, or about her past, and start over as a villain there. Become fearsome, build an army of villains if she could, and get rid of the stronghold family once and for all if they dared try stop her. Or...she decided to pay them a visit in the future.
This took her to Epcot city and its surrounding areas, and while she hasn't made a big name for herself yet...she's looking forward to playing around in an entirely new city.
Personality-wise, here, have what I wrote up for her when I used her on another disney site!
Gwen Grayson is, at her core, the highschool nerd who one day decided she was sick and tired of being trampled on and pushed aside by the 'cool' kids. The sort of person who, were circumstances a bit different in her situation, wouldn't have turned out as badly as she did. However, she had no such luck.
Back when she was Sue Tenny, she was a highly misunderstood individual. Since her powers were derived from intellectual means, she often buried herself in science and technology- fields in which her abilities helped her thrive. She wasn't honestly a withdrawn person- she longed to make friends amongst fellow heroes and carve a name for herself, but her high expectations were soon shattered. Sue was, and still is, highly proud of her abilities. Technopaths have always been a rare breed, but especially during her initial childhood. She and her parents considered it something special, and so Sue grew up with the belief and hopes that she would be a world-renowned figure.
Things didn't go her way. The day she was carelessly shoved into the sidekick classes, marked the start of her descent. She became more withdrawn, and developed a sense of loathing for Sky High and anybody who managed to make it into the hero field. Being written off as a nerd, or being treated as if she were worthless or invisible only made things worse. Her hatred continued to grow, until she finally hit a breaking point and snapped. So consumed by her negativity, she decided to become a villain- and from that day forward has been fueled by that negativity in every aspect.
Because she felt like the recipient of terrible treatment in highschool and was unable to handle it, she lashes out at anybody close to her when they make her upset- sometimes for the pettiest of things, and sometimes when it isn't even their fault to begin with. She has little idea how to treat people right, and if she's being nice- this is commonly because she is playing the person for a fool or manipulating them in some way. Sue/Gwen/Royal Pain doesn't really do anything, unless there's something in it for her.
She is so obsessive in her quest to 'right' the wrongs done to her in highschool, that she is a bit mad at times. She'll go from livid shouting to a cool, haughty laughter at the drop of a hat. She also finds it hard to maintain her composure at times- particularly if something is happening to upset her plans or, more likely, when something reminds her of everything she went through.
Voice Actor/Actress: Her actress is Mary Elizabeth Winstead. But, one of the voice settings on her costume is voiced by Patrick Warburton
