This post is specifically directed to Heffy and Nicole. I intended to send them a private message, but I figured I should post it publicly anyway, so everyone can take a look.
So, Nicole and Heffy, you're going to join the Tron thread, and you two would like to know the crucial details about what will happen. That's cool! You don't really need to watch the films to join in, so I'll just give you what I consider to be the most important facts.
In the context of Tron, there is a different world inside every computer. Within the digital world (or the Grid), humanoid beings are called Programs. They are not humans, but they resemble humans. They are most famous for wearing extremely tight spandex costumes, though in the sequels the costumes are much different. Here are comparisons.
First film, 1982

Second film, 2010
As you can see, the costume design is very different between the films. This thread won't have a requirement for what costume design you choose for your character, though; it can break away from the normal designs, and be entirely different. Scrooge could still have a Program-like top-hat for example. However, it's important to have illuminant, colored lines on your costume. I call these lines circuits, though I'm not 100% of that's the correct name for them. Of course, what they're called isn't important.
The Programs refer to humans (us!) as Users. Users are kinda like deities to Programs; some believe in them and trust in them, while others renounce them. Users tend to have more inexplicable powers than Programs do, such as absorb an enemy's color to 'blend in,' reviving a dormant Recognizer, etc.
Speaking of Recognizers, these are Recognizers.
Our characters will enter the electronic world via a digitizing machine. Think of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, only a little backwards; it digitizes what the beam strikes, and it pulls the object into the world.
Every Program has an Identity Disk. the Identity Disk not only stores the data and identity of a Program, but it can also be used as a weapon. Observe.
But you guys could alter your character's weapons, if you want. Like, Louis could have some kind of instrument of some sort, and Scrooge could have a cane. Otherwise, the disks are the most common weapons in Tron's world.
Speaking of Tron, the world is not called Tron. Tron is the character. He is a Program.
The world is very bright and neon-lighty, and all around pretty. The second movie's take on the world resembles real life more closely, but I honestly prefer the more otherworldly look.
The most popular scenes in both Tron films are the games. While we Users play video games, to Programs, video games are more like coliseum events. Programs can be killed in games. In Program lingo, the word for "death" is to be "derezzed," or deresolution.
Well, those are some of the most important facts off the top of my head. When I think of more, I'll edit them into this post. And don't worry; unlike the MCP/Tron plot that will happen in Dream League, this FK thread won't be heavy in plot. As of now, there are no villains at all, so as it stands this thread will be more of an experience rather than a storyline. If anyone would like to volunteer a villain of some kind, I'd be happy to hear of it!
END OF LINE.
