Story Arc/One-Shot Thread Ideas for Dream League

• Because more superheroes are joining the team, roommates are offered to help save space. The only confirmed roommates so far are Golden Flower + Sunshine. Roommates are not required. For example, She-Wolf will be alone. The roommate idea was suggested to help with character development and interaction. [Various]
  
• A story where the Dream League's supercomputer, MCP, rebels and digitizes Sunshine, Dreamchild, She-Wolf, and other heroes, hoping to terminate them and therefore take another step toward world domination. Tron is introduced here, and after the MCP is defeated Tron becomes the next supercomputer artificial intelligence. [Joe]
  
• Birds of a Feather: All the bird heroes save the day. [Joe]
  
• Cold shadow and Dreamchild fight Snake Charmer. [Various]
  
• Duck Avenger, Sunshine, and any other character interested battle with the Claw. [Joe]
  
• A supervillain somehow creates a time rift, and escapes into the old wild west. Sunshine, Duck Avenger, and others interested follow. To blend in, they dress up in appropriate clothing, and act as wild west heroes for a day. [Joe]
  
• Respect Your Elders! Masked Mallard, Paradox, The Balloonist, and other older members of the Dream League team up for a mission, to prove that old men can save the day. [Joe]
  
• Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! All the superheroines of the team (ONLY!) interested defeat a supervillain, and their friendship strengthens. [Joe]
  *The Boys are Back in Town! All the superheroes (men ONLY!) act out a similar mission. [Joe]
  
• Villain Get Together: Some supervillains get together for some kind of event/game/whatever and reminisce about how much they hate the Dream League. [Joe]
  
• Some members of the Dream League get wrapped up in an alternate dimension... an alternate dimension where the Dream League is the Nightmare League--a band of supervillains! (Example: Sunshine's counterpart is Nightfall). [Various]
  
• Another alternate dimension adventure, this time in a universe where all of the male characters are female, and vice versa. [Collin]
  
• An adventure where non-powered 'non-hero' characters (maybe Duckworth, Gyro, Ben Gates, etc.) save the day. [Joe]
  
• A thread where the powers of the Dream League are extracted by a villain, but accidentally spread to non-powered civilians. [Collin]
  
• When the Dream League gets very popular, they receive a large amount of fan mail. Duckworth receives a fan letter saying how much the writer admires his nobility and help. The letter is anonymous, but the handwriting is Dreamchild's... [Joe]
  
• Taurus Bulba clashes with the Dream League, but is presumably killed in a resulting explosion. He is later reanimated into a cyborg, and from then one he vows to someday destroy the League. [Joe]
  
• One day, the Dream League surfs through their large television's channels to find some kind of breaking news, or any event that could use their help. They stumble on a Japanese channel and watch an anime that is an obvious homage/rip-off of the Dream League. For example, Dreamchild is a Sailor Moon parody, while Sunshine is an overly large-breasted, stereotypically sexy character with plenty of boob shots. [Various]
  
• When Epcot City and Calisota in general are safe for a while, the Dream League decides to take a short vacation. [Joe]
  
• The Dream League receives a report that terrible things are happening in Calisota's casino capital city (currently unnamed). So heroes interested will visit this Las Vegas-esque city and see what the trouble is. [Joe]
  
• After months of being in the Dream League, Sunshine feels a little homesick, so she and some of her Dream League friends visit Eyvindria. [Joe]
  
• The plot of No-Face. [Heffy]
  
• Dream League vs. Chernabog. [Heffy]
  
• A body swap plot. [Nicole]
  
• A one-shot thread heavily based upon the Haunted Mansion and Phantom Manor attractions at Disney parks. Paranormal activity has increased around the area, and the source of it seems to be a lonely old mansion a couple of miles outside of Epcot City... [Heffy]
  
• Several of the Dreamers' foes that they've defeated in the past decide to band together (ala the Masters Of Evil or the Fearsome Five) to take out the Dream League once and for all. [Nicole]
  
• When Scrooge McDuck learn that his Money Bin is being targeted by villains, he must pull double duty as the Masked Mallard and as Scrooge. He calls on the help of his teammates in the Dream League, but ends up being taken hostage by the criminals -- while in his civilian identity. [Nicole]
  
• Our heroes alter the timestream somehow and end up turning Epcot City into a dystopian nightmare. They must retrace their steps to set things right. [Nicole]

• Scar: He somehow gains superpowers, including the ability to control other animals. Like any good tyrant, they turn their thoughts to the idea of overthrowing the human race (not sure how they'd feel about anthros like Duck Avenger) and uniting the entire animal kingdom under their banner.

• Jafar: the rude and snobbish curator of Epcot City's cultural museum. By day, he is the bald and bearded Jafar. But late in night, when he's alone in the museum, he performs rituals and studies books of the occult, witchcraft, ancient text regarding incantations and magic and stuff, etc. The museum is just a facade; utilizing the artifacts he's collected and stored in the museum, he wishes to weave the black arts and become powerful. If the museum is a little too farfetched, then maybe a library will suffice.
  
• Lyle T. Rourke: stabbed by Milo Thatch with a piece of the Atlantean crystal, the side-effects granted him with immortality and the ability to turn into a crystallized version of himself possessing super-strength and durability (and maybe a few other powers of the player's choice). Now, as the greedy and merciless super-villain Shard*, he sometimes works as a mercenary, though he will always be out for himself.

• Charlotte LaBouff: One character I've been thinking a lot about recently is Charlotte La Bouff from The Princess and the Frog. She's one of my favorite characters from the film, mostly because of her personality: though spoiled and self-centered, she's nevertheless a great friend and supportive of Tiana. But she's also hilarious and flamboyant, and I think she could fit in Dream League nicely.
  
• Harpoon (Ned Land): Hard-hitting, hard-drinking hero fights tyrants and madmen both above and below the waves, using his water-breathing ability, his energy harpoons, and his pet sea lion.
  
• Knock-Out: Debutante by day, crime-fighter by night, she employs her patented Dynamite Right to make Philadelphia safe for eccentric millionaires. Watch your footwork!
  
• A terrorist organization with multiple members.

Because I have no life, here are some more ideas. First off...



I still can't believe no one has grabbed this guy yet. He's tailor-made to be a superhero! Robin Locksley (him going by Robin Hood in this continuity would be rather silly, and 'Locksley' would be a nod to the Robin Hood legend) would keep the arrows of course (and would wield trick arrows like Hawkeye or Green Arrow do), but in order not to seem redundant with Azure Blade around, he could have some sort of power perhaps, maybe something based around his stealth or disguise abilities.

Shan Yu: His fate in the movie takes a new twist when he is frozen in the avalanche caused by the disguised Mulan at the mountain ridge. Thawed out in the 21st century, he is miraculously revived (thanks to magic/science/whatever). He turns his thoughts to conquering the strange new world he finds himself in. He would be like a Vandal Savage-style villain.

Cassim (Aladdin's daddy for those not in the know): The legendary King Of Thieves, one night, Cassim attempts to steal an ancient artifact, triggering its latent powers. He is granted superpowers (which the player could get pretty creative with, considering his background and all). I think he'd work best as an ally of the Dream League.

Maleficent, Sunshine's most dangerous and formidable enemy. In Sunshine's history, Maleficent wasn't killed, but trapped in an enchanted tree. This leaves the door wide open, because Maleficent could someday escape...

I was just thinking how awesome it would be to have Maleficent around.

A while ago, Heffy had a terrific idea about Cogsworth as a hero with time-related abilities. That made me think about Lumiere as a superhero. Pyrokinesis would be the best choice for his powers.

I would also still love to see Tiana and Naveen here.

Okay! I modified this thread's purpose to encompass both character suggestions and plot suggestions or ideas.

I originally planned on leading a sad, dramatic thread starring Dreamchild. After the MCP is (eventually) defeated, he somehow resurfaces elsewhere and creates an android duplicate of Dreamchild. This robotic Dreamchild would be convinced that she's the true Dreamchild, and that the real Dreamchild is an impostor. This thread would be dramatic and with a sad ending, akin to the Batman: The Animated Series episode "His Silicon Soul."

However, I'm abandoning this idea, because I realized that every single dramatic and/or dark Dream League thread I have made or participated in, Dreamchild is involved. "Dreams to Nightmares," "Visiting Hours," the most intense part of "Memories Can Weigh You Down"--Dreamchild is in so many intense threads already. Not to mention,

there will be the eventual story arc, codenamed "The Dark Dreamchild Saga."

That's why I want to avoid repetition. I don't wanna be one-notish, or a one trick pony. That's why I'm discarding this Robotic Dreamchild plot. That said, the plot could and should be taken up by someone else. Kris has suggested a plot where Negaduck uses robotic duplicates of some kind. That'd be pretty cool!

Also, I originally planned for the Master Control Program to kidnap Dreamchild, once he digitizes a good amount of the Dream League. But, I've changed my mind, so if there are any role-players who want one of their characters to be abducted by the MCP (the others will have to rescue 'em), let me know. But it won't be Dreamchild, as I originally planned.

Do you think the Negaverse (where Negaduck comes from) contains duplicates of everybody? I mean, it's the whole world, right?

If so, I wouldn't mind a plot in which we meet our Mirror Mirror selves.

I always kinda thought the Negaverse was the same world where the Star Trek crew met their evil twins. In fact, I did a thread on another site where we entered the Negaverse. Of course, nobody else wanted to join, so I ended up doing the entire thread myself with my three characters battling their counterparts.

There is eventually going to be a plot where the Dream League encounters and battles with the Nightmare League, an alternate universe supervillain team consisting of the League's evil counterparts. This idea originally had nothing to do with Darkwing Duck's Negaverse and instead had a different alternate dimension in mind. But a substantial amount of people have suggested using the Negaverse instead, so I might acquiesce.

Now that you mention it, poor Dreamchild does get things kinda rough. XD I like that idea of Negaduck creating robotic duplicates.

I'm not sure if I asked this already or not, but didn't we have a DL plot list thread floating around there too? Also, I don't suppose we could have a thread like this for FK? I actually thought of a few plot ideas recently I wanted to share.

You know, I would actually like to see some kind of thread/story arc featuring a supervillain with a supernatural musicality power. Meaning, characters would break out into song, and it'd be a musical. It'd be kinda like High School Musical, except it wouldn't suck. It would be awesome. I guess it could include songs both original and existing.

The closest comparison I can think of is "Once More, With Feeling" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I think Alameda Slim (who's already listed here) would fit the bill perfectly.

Batman: The Brave And The Bold had an episode like this entitled "The Mayhem Of The Music Meister", which I thought was really fun. I'm not really sure why WB had the first two parts blocked and left the third up, but oh well, here's the third part.

Since the player of the original Captain (or in this case, Lieutenant) Amelia vanished a long while ago, I'd love to see someone pick her up again and use the same concept Rose had for her -- Chief O'Hara's deputy and critic of the Dream League.

I'd also like to see Bushroot, the other member of the Fearsome Five around.

I thought of this one the other day as a sort of "Catwoman" for my character, The Wastelander. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you....

Black Kitty

Her back story would be that she had been declared dead and took on the identity of Black Kitty in order to protect Wastelander whenever he is in major trouble. Wastelander has no idea it's his "departed" girlfriend and thinks it's some mystery woman.

She'd basically use a bunch of Batman-like gadgets as her power.
