It was a Monday night in spring when Sunshine was out on patrol. She was paired with Duck Avenger, though any other Dreamer could have shown up, for all they knew. Both the Ray of Hope and the Simply-Cannot-Decide-On-A-Nickname were on the roof of a semi-tall building. A water tower was erected on this roof, and Duck Avenger leaned against one of the thick rails, one of his feet pressed to the roof and the other over and with just the tip of his boot on the roof's surface. His arms were folded on his chest, as she stared at his solar-powered comrade, who was just approaching age 18. No matter how many times he looked at her, she was beautiful.
Sunshine didn't notice the stare, as she, seated at the edge of the roof with her legs dangling, stared at the streets below. Actually, the people on the streets were more important. The two had patrolled numerous districts already, and it was a truly slow night. The most dramatic crime was someone who left a pet store with a pet she hadn't purchased... yet the puppy simply followed her out, and no harm was done.
Even Sunshine herself, who was normally dedicated to every mission, was vulnerable to a slipping interest. She began to look at the buildings surrounding her, smiling in amazement. "Back in Eyvindria, no building looks anything like this city. It's amazing how architecture can be so different between nations, isn't it?"
Duck Avenger didn't answer, unless "ACHOO!" was a valid response in a secondary language. Duck Avenger had been sneezing all day, come to think of it. Sunshine shifted her weight and turned to get a look at the duck. "Are you coming down with something?"

Duck Avenger sniffed loudly then rubbed a feathered finger against the nostrils on the top of his bill. He rolled his eyes at his condition and shook his head. "Nah," he replied, his harsh yet squeaky voice polite to Sunshine yet annoyed with himself. "Just allergies. It's springtime, you know."
He folded his arms on his chest again and smirked at the concerned teenager. "Good thing the sun's out a lot more often now. You couldn't Sunray as much in the snow." Sunshine was one of the few members of the Dream League whom he didn't routinely clash egos with. At the most, he would scold her for her almost absurd selflessness, but, otherwise, the two got along just like playful friends.

The Wastelander made to the top of the roof just as Duck Avenger had finished explaining himself. He had been trying to catch up with DA and Sunshine, but that was difficult becuase he couldn't fly.
"I would have taken the elevator," he explained, exhuasted from his flight up the stairs, "but it was out of order." He leaned on a rail of the water tower next to Duck Avenger. "By the way," Wastelander said, just remebering something, "I found these at the mall and thought you'd like some." Wastelander pulled out a pair of Hershey's Cookies n Cream chocolate bunnies. "Happy early Easter, guys," he said, handing the candied confections to his friends.

Sunshine grinned jovially to the duck. "No, but snow is still beautiful! It's just as pretty here as it is back home." She continued to speak, but she stammered, stopped, and looked to the Wastelander as he arrived. She immediately felt a pang of guilt when she realized she had forgotten to offer to hold him during her flight. She got up on her heeled boots and strolled to the two males, both of whom weren't human (so she was taller).
She smiled very warmly to the Wastelander's (masked) eyes as she accepted the Hershey's bunny, flattered by the real bunny's gift. "Oh, thank you, Wastelander! That is so sweet of you! I wish I had something to give you now." Her smile faded and her brows furrowed. "I'm so sorry you had to run. I forgot to ask you--I could carry you whenever I fly, if you'd like." She decided to wait on eating her chocolate bunny until Duck Avenger started... which was almost immediately.

Duck Avenger only liked snow when it didn't involve driving over it. He hated driving over snow, and not because he was a bad driver. He just hated the danger. He flinched yet continued leaning against a rail when he looked to find Wastelander, obviously a bit winded by going up the stairs. Duck Avenger couldn't fly, but he could use his cape as a hang glider. Still, he felt a bit sorry for the rabbit, having to keep up but unable to soar.
He nodded in acknowledgement to the rabbit. "Hey." He didn't really know too much about the Wastelander, because he hadn't really interacted with the rabbit terribly much, but he seemed like a good chap enough. Of course, being handed an early Easter gift (a chocolate bunny!) certainly raised the duck's opinion of the Wastelander.
Duck Avenger took the chocolate bunny as it was handed to him (cookies 'n cream, classy!) and grinned. "Hey, thanks! You didn't have to do that." He unwrapped the chocolate bunny very quickly and was about to take a bite, but he got an idea. He waited for Sunshine to finish speaking and then smirked mischievously at the thoughtful rabbit.
"Hey, Wastelander. Doesn't this bother you?" He then raised the chocolate bunny and exaggeratedly bit the head clean off, leaving the edible bunny decapitated. He swallowed and chuckled, but he was confused by how Sunshine leaned to him and obviously looked all around his head. "What? What're you looking for?"

Sunshine had watched Duck Avenger tease the Wastelander. She decided to give the snarking duck a taste of his own medicine. She leaned forward and made it clear that she was 'examining' his head, all around it. As she had hoped, the Avenger asked why she was doing this.
"I'm just making sure you're not growing donkey ears again, that's all." She smiled, at first deadpan, but only raised a single eyebrow and grinned playfully when the Avenger got the joke. (He didn't really like it.)

Wastelander didn't quite get Sunshine's joke about DA growing donkey ears, but he got passed that and decided to add to the fun.
"It's quite alright, Sunshine," Wastelander said, "After all this is a joyous season... for all of us."
Wastelander ended his statment by pulling out a marshmallow shaped like a duckling and bite it's head off just as crazily as DA did with the bunny. "Your move, DA," he said to his duck friend, challenging him to a battle of wittyness.

Elsewhere in the metropolis of Epcot City, the Comet cruised smoothly down the streets. The vehicle's design made it stand out from many others, but the sole occupant, the Masked Mallard, didn't care. He wasn't going for stealth, at least not tonight he wasn't.
On the contrary, just seeing the Comet should have been a deterrent to any scoundrels and ne'er-do-wells who might've been prowling tonight...
... Though like his comrades Sunshine, Duck Avenger, and the Wastelander, the Gentleman's Crimefighter hadn't seeing a lot of action either. Perhaps the appearance of the Comet was having the desired effect. The Masked Mallard focused his attention on the street, but kept an eye out just in case. Idly, he wondered how the other Dreamers were doing.

Duck Avenger rolled his eyes at Sunshine and mock-laughed at her oh-so-'funny' joke. "Ha-ha-ha. Maybe you should quit singing and look into standup." His bill twisted into an amused smirk when the Wastelander pulled a nice comeback. He had taken a marshmallow duckling and also beheaded it. "Touché." He eyed the tallest member of the outfit smugly. "What about you? Judging by your waist, I'd say you've never eaten chocolate in your life."

Sunshine grinned and stuck her tongue out slightly at Duck Avenger's retort. With her friends, she had learned to loosen up and wear humor and playfulness like badges. Her comrades were just as playful, and the two engaged in a beheading contest that was morbidly humorous. She giggled and shook her head in amusement, but then Duck Avenger had to go and challenge her. Her eyelids half closed and a wry smirk tugged her lips after Duck Avenger commented on her slim figure. "Never eaten chocolate? Why, I never!"
She grinned as she unwrapped her own chocolate bunny. Not wasting a second, her white teeth sank into the treat and pulled out a large chunk. She continued the pace a quick swallow later. To the duck's surprise, Sunshine devoured her chocolate rabbit much quicker than the time it took him to chew and devour the bunny's head.
Triumphant, Sunshine stood proudly after finishing the treat. She crumpled the wrapper and continued to hold it in a tight fist (and she would until she could find a trash can), and folded her arms on her chest, lifting a single eyebrow at the Avenger. "I'm so sorry, Duck Avenger. Apart from the chocolate, you'll also have to eat your own words."
