Not sure where to post this but...
I'm thinking of taking on a Fantasmic Kingdom account. So, I read up on the rules and such, but couldn't seem to find a description of the plot.
I see the various lands to visit. But are the characters trapped in them? Or do they go home at night. How do they get from one land to another? Magic portal?
Are other characters there, characters no one has claimed?
Anything else I ought to know?
Sorry to be so out of the loop. Thanks for the info.

Just to get a little presumption out of the way, Basil is currently available in FK. Have you had your eyes on him? FK has its own taken character list, so it's a good idea to start from there. Remember that FK is completely separate from The Dream League. Think of them as taking place in completely different dimensions. Dream League's Alice, for example, is totally different from FK's Alice, even though they're the same character. It can get confusing, but the easiest to remember is FK is straight up classic Disney. The Dream League is the DL we know today. Also, this isn't such a major difference, but the Dream League is rated PG-13 for violence and action. FK is a more timid PG. The answer to your question is potentially disappointing, but here goes! There is no overarching plot in Fantasmic Kingdom. There is no big conflict that drives the RP, nor is there a universal problem for the characters. Though there are occasionally massive plots that tangle numerous characters and sometimes threads, for the most part FK is pretty much, "Disney characters live in this world, and they have daily lives." Think of it like a TV show, but without commercials, and no annoying fake audience laughter! Threads can be funny or dramatic, depending on the authors' intention. Occasionally there are gripping story arcs, but most of the threads are self-contained. No epic "escape to Witch Mountain" plot drives the story, really. In the older days of Fantasmic Kingdom, Fantasmic Kingdom was one large continent, with the major countries attached/bridging each other. However, this history hasn't been revisited in years, so it's currently a bit vague, left up to the role-player. Moony, a longtime role-player who retired a few years ago, created this map, based on the material FK had since 2002. Sorry if I'm rambling. The short answer: FK is just a world where Disney characters live in, it's one massive continent (though there are islands and such), and it's really not a concept to think about; it's just an admittedly weak excuse for Disney characters to interact with each other. If enough role-players feel that it's time to give FK an update/more defined history and location, the admins can discuss it together. What say you? Are you cool with how it's presented, or is it time to create some FK lore?

Um, yeah, that's the reason for the inquiry. I've had my eye on the absentee FK Basil, and figured, with the clean-up, now was a good time.
Okay, the lands are all just part of one continent, got that. And, I presume, characters react to the other people and places as if they were always there? Business as usual, no big? Am I correct?
I am okay with that; makes it different from my other board. Just want to understand it before posting anything.
If you did create a new plot & backstory, sounds to me like it would mean a complete re-start. Just sayin'.

Well, I wouldn't restart FK by a plot background. I was just wondering out loud if we should revamp the actual kingdom/landscape at all. But, hey, the beauty and tragedy of FK is its vagueness. It's vague to the point where you can pretty much adapt to it however you see fit. Guess we shouldn't give that up.

YIKES! I'm sorry, L! I could have sworn I approved Basil's account. :X I apologize for the blunder. He's approved and ready to go now.
