Real Name: Sally O’Hara (Ragdoll chose this for herself)
Alias: Ragdoll
Age: Stuck at 21
Species: Mortality Challenged Human
Sex: Female
Nationality: American
Alignment: Lawful Good
Affiliated With: Currently no-one
Status: Active
Physical Description (Body structure, eye color, hair color, etc.): At 5’10’’, Ragdoll is noticeably taller than the average height for a woman of her age (or former age), however in terms of mass she’s noticeably thinner than average, a side-effect of having been held captive with minimal sustenance before her untimely death. Her eyes are unusually large to begin with, however as her irises and pupils are relatively small it makes her eyes appear even larger, almost unnaturally so. When alive she was incredibly self conscious about this detail, especially considering her small head, however since dying and being reanimated she’s more concerned with her the unnatural, bluish tine that her skin has taken on. In addition to this her skin is covered in a multitude of scars (side effects of some of the more serious injuries that she’s had to reconstruct herself after), however she can hide these with make-up if necessary. Her hair is auburn and stretches straight down to her hip, and has an unfortunate tendency to appear at least slight greasy in spite of how many times she washes it.
Appearance (Dream League): In keeping with the rags theme, Ragdoll’s costume is a relatively simple affair made from various scraps of cloth sown together into a tunic that allows her the full range of motion whilst on duty. Due to her ability to shake off most injuries she does not feel the need to protect herself with armour, hence why her costume is only made of cloth. Importantly, her costume is designed so that body parts can be detached and reattached without difficulty, which is something that would be very hard to do if she was burdened with a lot of protective covering.
Appearance (Outside of Costume): In a reversal of superhero convention, it is when out of costume that she has to hide her true identity, so as not to frighten people with the sight of a reanimated corpse. She is adept at using make-up to cover the unnatural tint to her skin, making her appear like a healthy, if rather pale, living person. Fortunately she is not required to hide her face in either persona, for her normal appearance is so striking that people don’t connect it to her human appearance. In order to minimise the amount of flesh that she has to hide behind make-up she always wears opaque tights to cover her legs and a pair of shoulder-length gloves to cover her arms, however other than this she simply chooses clothes that are modest, casual and comfortable.
Abilities and Powers: Ragdoll has the ability to detach and reattach any of her body parts at will. Whilst her body parts are detached she can still consciously control them, allowing them to move around seemingly on their own. In addition to this, Ragdoll’s brief time on the other side before she was brought back from the dead left her with the power to see cryptic visions that hint at things to come, however even she is at a loss to explain exactly what causes these. Owing to already being dead, as well as being able to put herself back together, Ragdoll is able to recover from most injuries, although she is yet to test herself with anything too severe.
Weaknesses: Her main weakness is the simple fact that she only possesses the average strength of an adult, human female, thus meaning that her limbs are rather vulnerable whilst separate from her. In addition, manipulating the limbs whilst not in contact with them requires concentration, meaning that her control can fail if she gets suitably distracted. Whilst she can sense what is around her body parts even when she can’t see them, this is far less accurate than actually guiding them by sight, and thus she is prone to making mistakes when trying to manipulate them in this way.
Accessories: She carries a special handkerchief treated with a mixture that will remove her disguise make-up quickly.
Character Information (Personality & Motivation): Ragdoll’s human life is a complete mystery to her, for upon her death and reanimation something went wrong in her mind and wiped her memory completely clear. All she knows is that at some point she was abducted by a group of scientists led by the mysterious Doctor Finklestein, who were experimenting in attempting to artificially implant the metahuman gene into a human who was born without any superpowers. Ragdoll’s first conscious memories are of waking up in her cell the night after having been experimented on, physically dead, yet somehow still moving around. She soon discovered that she had the power to detach and reattach her limbs at will, and realised that she had to escape from the laboratory at all costs before she was disposed of.
She formed a plan to get out of her cell by pretending that whatever was keeping her alive had worn off, and then, when the guards came to dispose of her, knocking them out and taking their key card. Unfortunately her attempts to free herself were caught on tape and the alarm was sounded, however she managed to evade recapture and finally win her freedom by hurling herself off the rooftop (a fall only she could survive, thus preventing the guards from following her). Soon after this she was picked up by the Dream League and, relieved that they accept her in spite of her current undead state, has been a loyal member of the group ever since.
It pains Ragdoll to think of how many innocent people might have suffered a similar fate to hers at the hands of the scientists, only without having come back to life like she did. This is the main reason why she became a member of the Dream League, in order to protect people and make sure that their operation is shut down permanently. She’s also extremely curious to learn about who she was back when she was alive, and is hoping that the League’s resources will be able to help her in this task.
