Kopa could hardly sleep that night, for he was way too excited. Today was THE day. The day his father promised that he'd take him to the top of Pride Rock. Rolling onto his stomach, he laid there a few moments before standing up and peering over other pride members as they slept soundly on the cave floor. Creeping carefully around them so as not to awaken them, the young prince made his way towards his mother and father, of whom he figured were probably still asleep. Crouching low, Kopa froze then leaped onto his father and grabbed his ear and tugged as hard as he possibly could. "Come on Dad! Wake up!" he said as he shook his head back and forth while tugging. Why was it that parents were so hard to wake up in the morning? Kopa began to whine. "DAD!" Hopping down he backed up slowly and rammed into Simba's head as hard as he possibly could. "COME ON!" That teared it. If his Dad wasn't going to wake up, then he'd go up to the top by himself. With a pout upon his face, the golden cub walked out of the cave and began the climb up the trail towards the top of Pride Rock. "Pft. This isn't hard at all." he smirked as he continued his ascent. Stopping to look at the view below, Kopa noticed how small everything was becoming. "Come on Kopa..you...you can do this." he told himself as he mustered up the courage to go a few feet more. Great...just great. Kopa completely froze in his place huddling close to the rock wall for comfort. Shutting his eyes he laid there, his small golden body shaking in a panic. Who was he kidding? He couldn't possibly make it up the rest of the way. It was too high up! "Help.." he squeaked in a very feeble attempt hoping and at the same time doubting, that someone had heard it.

Even though exploring the African savannah by one's self probably wasn't the best of ideas, sometimes Captain Eo needed to get away from it all. And this was one of those times. He loved his faithful crew, but today he wanted some time with his own thoughts.
So here we find Eo, trudging across the grasslands, stopping in silent fascination to watch the gazelles and zebras and other native wildlife go about their daily lives. This wilderness easily rivaled some of the lands he had seen when he had visited aliens worlds on various missions. He had only read about most of these animals in holo-books or seen in pictures, so to see them firsthand was beyond amazing.
Ahead of him, what appeared to be a small mountain dominated the landscape. When he had finally reached the immense slabs of rock, he stopped and stare up at it, feeling dwarfed by the structure. He bet if he climbed it, he could get a great view of the entire savannah! With that settled, Eo began to carefully scale the side of the mountain.

Unfortunately, Kopa was still huddled against the rock wall, though this time he had mustered up enough courage to at least open his eyes. It actually didn't look SO bad, when he looked ahead that is. Slowly, he rose to his feet and began to focus on continuing upwards, keeping his head straight at all times. "This is MUCH easier!" he smiled as he finally made it to the top.
There it was...the kingdom. His future kingdom. The young cub stared out at it in complete awe. "Wow...."

Although he didn't have any of the necessary equipment for rock climbing and nearly slipped a few times as a result, Eo was still determinedly climbing up the mountain face, carefully using the footholds provided by the mountain. The young man's mind was set on scaling this mountain, and he never backed down from a challenge if he could. Fortunately, his natural athleticism came in handy for this feat.
Finally reaching the top of the large boulders grouped around the main structure of the mountain, Eo sat down in a heap, a tired but happy smile on his face as he took his surroundings in. Yep, some sweat and hard work was definitely worth it to be up here.

Kopa's ears pricked up at the sound of something walking up behind him. "Dad! Come lo-you're not Dad.." he stopped talking when he realized that it wasn't his father that was behind him, but some odd stranger.
Padding closer, the cub sniffed and took a step back. "You smell funny.." The young prince had never seen a human before in his life nor had he smelled one for that matter. "What are you?" he asked as he quirked a brow in confusion.
