I... wow. I think literally raged while looking at this list. Naturally, I had to share my pain with youse guys. vmartinezwilson.hubpages.com/hub/The-Top-10-Worst-Disney-HeroesI don't want the writer to be flamed, because he's got a right to his opinion of course, but... wow, talk about an absolute refusal to consider the time periods the characters' respective films are set in, the times in which the films themselves were made, or the characters themselves. I mean, for example, he mocks Lady from 'Lady And The Tramp', saying that her being muzzled and put outside in her doghouse is hardly a tragedy. Uh, Lady's a house dog, so of course getting chained to her doghouse by some dog-hating woman is like the human equivalent of going to jail for her. Speaking honestly, I think stuff like this is one of several reasons why I started distancing myself further and further from other Disney fans in the past couple years. This sort of attitude is just way too prevalent.

Ugh, this list is disgusting. I don't know if the author was being sarcastic, or he was just dumb. lol "Your list is bad, and you should feel bad!"

It's people and articles like this that make me angry. As Nicole stated, they don't take any time to really consider the films and it's characters, which is just plain ignorant when writing such an article. But instead are the first to jump up and bash the first thing they see as a "flaw." I can't believe some of the commentators agree on this rubbish either.
BLECH.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and all of these lists like this, throughout the world, are just that. With that having been said, it's my opinion that his opinion sucks. Thank you, and have a nice day.

I'm surprised Panchito didn't make the list! Or maybe it's because he turns up on so many villain lists. But, seriously, this blog didn't make me mad, it just made me want to debate the author. Many of his comments were simply not rational critiques of the characters. For example: Snow White didn't ignore the dwarfs' warning because she was stupid. Her compassion for an old woman overruled her fear. And the fact that her prince is not named doesn't make her a bad character. Now, hating the voice is a valid reason to dislike a character. But he knocks down many characters because they have personality flaws. I consider that a plus, actually. Some of what he said is true: Ariel is spoiled and Pinocchio is a liar. And, no, we don't want people to emulate bad qualities. But when a character overcomes their flaw, or learns that it's bad, well, that makes a good movie. Also, he criticizes Ariel for disobeying her parent, and Cinderella for obeying hers. If Cinderella is a minor, she has no choice but to submit to her stepmother. And do we really want her to repay her stepsisters with equal meanness? Wouldn't that be a lovely heroine. As for Ariel, there is the prejudice of her dad to consider. No, girls shouldn't run away from home, but one of the points of the story is that not all humans are barbarians. It takes Ariel to prove that. I don't really like "worst of" lists. I prefer to discuss what we love than what we hate.

Well said, y'all!
I think every good, solid character needs to have his/her own vices. Would we really find Basil or Darkwing Duck as interesting if they didn't have massive egos? Tinker Bell is a very moody and pouty girl, but that's what makes her so much more interesting, as opposed to if she was just another "aw, shucks" fairy who could spit benevolence. I just...
I re-read this list and I've given up trying to rationalize it. Yes, he/she/it has every right to their opinion, but, my goodness, I just wish the 'arguments' weren't so ill-conceived and groundless.

I'd much rather see a character with flaws then some perfect character who can do no wrong. They're way more realistic and easier to identify with, and it's pretty awesome to watch them overcome their faults. To be frank, I personally just don't see how pple can like perfect characters. They're dreadfully boring, IMHO. Also, I get the sneaking feeling that if the writer weren't bashing these characters based on their flaws, s/h/it would find some other reason to go after them. And yeah, I'm kinda amazed that the commentators just... go along with what the writer says. I'm surprised Panchito didn't make the list! Or maybe it's because he turns up on so many villain lists. But, seriously, this blog didn't make me mad, it just made me want to debate the author. Many of his comments were simply not rational critiques of the characters. Pple think Panchito's a villain? Really? But yeah, I'm wondering how the writer would react if someone were to try and debate him/her/it. Some pple just can't be reasoned with no matter what, unfortunately. Here's something to make up for the fail guys. Not everyone believes that some of the charcters on the list are the worse things to ever happen: d-princesses.livejournal.com/1134539.html#commentsd-princesses.livejournal.com/1032015.html#comments

In the Disney Heroes & Villains card set, Panchito is categorized with the villains.

Pardon my intense reaction, but that is some of the dumbest horse plop I've ever heard. lol Who came up with that? That card set's logic is horrid.
I believe I had a card or two from that series, though. Wasn't Merlin such a card? If so, yes, I had that.

I prefer to discuss what we love than what we hate. All of this, pretty much. Really, this guy's logic is just flimsy and his reasons for including many (if not all, really) of these characters are poor and unfounded. I'd respect his opinions more if they weren't, well, ignorant and baseless. Looks like he was just grasping for things to complain about... such is the internet. Is it so hard to just appreciate these movies for what they are? I mean really, you could not have expected Snow White to be anything but the demure maiden she is given the time period the movie was made... Also, L, I really want to see this card series for myself, now. lol

I have my own opinions about what Disney characters are likable and unlikable, but the way this guy handled it is a joke. I think I'm gonna stop posting in this thread. I don't wanna give this fool any more attention.
