I suppose it's a bad idea to suggest an epic storyline when we have dozens of unfinished plots as it is, but I've wanted to do this since I first came here and created my first Disney hero.
Way back in the prehistoric days, there was a comic book maxi-series by Marvel called Contest of Champions. Seems a couple of cosmic beings, the Grandmaster and I-forget-who-at-the-moment were both nutty about games and such. So they got the idea to stage an elaborate contest using Earth's super-heroes as pawns.
the series never quite lived up to its potential, but my siblings and I created our own version with a few tweaks, and we played it out many times with different characters. I propose a thread with the following parameters:
Two cosmic beings will each choose a set number of heroes and villains. These characters will be divided into teams, sent off to various environments, and pitted against each other to find one segment of the hidden "prize," a glowing golden sphere. And maybe to battle each other in the attempt.
Anyway, that's the bare bones of it.

I believe what you're talking about are the Secret Wars. I do remember that, which makes me almost as prehistoric as yourself, haha. I also think that sounds like an awesome idea.

I'd definitely be up for something like this - there's a lot of potential in the concept.

Actually, Secret Wars was a different maxi-series (earlier, I believe, though I could be wrong about that).
I merely throw it out as a suggestion. I would definitely be in. With multiple characters. Maybe even all of mine.
That's how much I love this idea.
But, frankly, we'd need more Rpers who were available/committed. I do understand the things that must come first, like school, family, and work. I'm not criticizing, just stating a fact. If folks can't commit to something this big, there's no sense even starting it.

While Wastelander uses science for his powers, I still say he could be an interesting choice for this idea. So, count me in.
