Rat
Canon: Lady and the Tramp
Voice Actor: Does not speak; merely makes appropriate ‘rat’ sounds
FK Player: Collin
Full Name: None
Sex: Unknown
Species: Black Rat (presumed)
Likes: Dark places, scurrying about, poorly guarded food sources, climbing
Dislikes: Dogs, cats and the majority of creatures larger than itself, water
Information: Possibly one of the more obscure and easily forgotten villains in Disney history, to even call it a “villain” would be a stretch, though it can at the very least be considered by most as an antagonist, though even this would be debatable to some seeing as the majority of its activities throughout Lady and the Tramp involved creeping about and looking sinister, but not doing anything particularly devious. Though it climbed into a baby’s cradle near the end of the film, it’s questionable whether or not it had ill-intent toward the infant, and was likely drawn to the warm, dark, soft covers and blankets within the cradle.
Unlike some of the other rodents which inhabit Fantasmic Kingdom, such as Professor Ratigan, the rat does not exhibit any human behaviors or show signs of increased intelligence like some of its more anthropomorphic counterparts, but is rather just a common rat, likely belonging to the species of ‘Black Rat’ which originated in Asia and, via ships, spread to other locations throughout the world.
While it doesn’t display any significant fighting potential, it has proven during its fight against Tramp that, when backed into a corner, it is capable of inflicting punishing bites and scratches against foes even far larger than itself. It is also a capable climber, but a poor swimmer.
