Wendy Darling glanced out of the window of the nursery which served as a bedroom for only John and Michael these days. It seemed like her Neverland adventure had happened so long ago that she often found herself wondering if it was all a dream. But Wendy could never really forget her time with Peter Pan. She had made a silent vow to herself stating that even though she would grow up, she would never become one of those adults who forgot her bedtime stories or Neverland itsself.
A grandfather clock chimed in the hall below her and her attentions turned to scanning the streets for her father. He should be arriving home from work shortly; it was already half past five. The sound of Nana's breathing, caused the girl to steal a glance behind her and reach down to pat their Nurse Dog.
"Have you come to watch for Father too, Nana?" The St. Bernard wagged her tail and placed her paws up on to the sofa, so she too could see out the window. A smile formed on Wendy's lips and she settled back down into her position.

Meanwhile on the streets Lucky whom had gotten seperated from the other pups wandered around lost in the streets of london, he sniffed around trying to find his way back home to the farm. "Okay thats the last time I get distracted on our walks.." He mumbled to himself as he continued to wander the streets, course the only worst thing that could happen is to run into either Cruella and her henchmen or the Dog Catcher

Nana spotted Lucky on the street below before Wendy did, and the dog whimpered lightly.
"What is it, girl? Do you see Father?" Pushing the tip of her nose up against the window and squinting, she tried to see if any of the men with cloaks walking about resembled her father. But none of them had the portly belly George Darling carried and with a sigh, Wendy leaned back and pat Nana on the head.
"I think you are mistak- ooh! What's that?'
A slash of white and black dots moved between two people walking past her home and she leaned forward once again to see what on earth it was.
"Why, Nana, look! It's a puppy!" The dog barked happily in response. "Is that what you saw? Oh, it's so small. But where is its owner?"
She looked about to see if anyone was following the pup, but very few people seemed to be paying attention to it. Those that did, simply continued on their walk.
"Oh, dear, I'd better go and find him! Someone's probably missing the poor thing."
She rose from her spot and hurried towards the door and down the stairs, Nana at her heels.
"You don't mind, do you Nana?" Wendy asked as she took her coat off of the coatrack. The St. Bernard shook her head.
"There's a good girl. I'll be back soon."
Wendy opened the door and walked quickly down the street she had seen the puppy on.

Lucky continued wandering the streets, his tummy growling due to hunger. "Man I hope I'm not missing dinner.." He muttered sounding a bit like Rolly for a minute as he gazed at the street sign, he wondered if he wandered passed this street already. "Feels like I've been going around in circles." He continued on

Wendy looked a wee bit odd, walking with her torso tilted toward one side as she tried to peer between people to spot the puppy. When the tiny thing paused to stare up at a street sign, Wendy caught sight of him and called out, "Wait! Oh, please wait," after the dog wandered on, and gave chase.
"Here puppy! Over here!" Wendy pursed her lips and whistled to try to catch the spotted animal's attention.

Seeing that the puppy had actually paused for her, she whistled again and approached the dog cautiously, so as not to scare it off.
"Hello there." Wendy spoke in a gentle tone and held her hand out for the puppy to sniff. "What are you doing out here all on your own?"

After her hand had been sniffed, she slowly reached to take a look at the gold dog tag attached to the pup's collar. "Lucky," Wendy read aloud. " Well I know I'm lucky to have found you." She glanced at the back of the tag and sighed. "I'm afraid I don't recognise the address of the place you came from, but I bet Mother or Father would know!"
Wendy scooped her arms around Lucky and picked him up. "I'll take you home and give you something to eat. You must be hungry."

She was grateful that Lucky wasn’t causing much of a fuss and when Wendy returned home she found that Nana was already waiting for her. The dog instinctively barked when she saw the new arrival.
“Please be quiet, Nana,” Wendy begged.
”Whatcha got there, Wendy?”
Peeking out from around the hall corner was Wendy’s youngest brother, Michael. The young boy came forward and gasped when he saw Lucky.
”A puppy!” he exclaimed delightedly. ”Can we keep him?”
Nana did a double take at Michael’s suggestion, her ears flopping against the side of her head.
“Well no,” Wendy replied slowly. “He belongs to someone else and Mother and Father are going to have to help us give him back.” She watched Nana breathe a sigh of relief. “Don’t worry, Nana,” she assured the dog as Michael threw his arms around her neck in the gesture of a hug, “No one can replace you. Michael, why don’t you take Lucky upstairs to the nursery and keep him company while I get him some food.”
”Okay.” He stretched out his arms to take the pup that Wendy passed over. “Come on Lucky. We can play upstairs while we wait for Wendy.”
As Wendy slipped off into the kitchen, Michael had a bit of difficulty carrying Lucky up the steps to the nursery (Nana at his heels) but he finally made it and was very careful putting the dog on to the floor.

Lucky looked around the bedroom wondering what was going to happen to him, he turned seeing the large St.Bernard nearby. He had seen some of those kinds of dogs on TV but never so close, especially this one being dressed as a nursemaid, he hoped these kids wouldn't get the idea of dressing him up

Michael began to dig through a wooden toy chest he had, tossing out various objects here and there.
"Maybe there's some toys in here you can play with."
Nana shook her head and said to Lucky, "Those children certainly know how to make a mess. What's your name, dear?" But a yip of shock came out of the dog's mouth next when she looked over and saw Michael tipping over into the toy chest. His feet were off the ground and his stomach was resting on the edge of the chest, which was currently supporting him. Nana dashed over to him and caught the back of his suspenders, pulling him out of the box before he fell all the way in.

Mary was in the process of sewing up the back trouser pocket of one of George's trousers, which had come off in an unfortunate mishap involving John and Michael, when she heard the sound of dishes being moved around in the kitchen. Setting her work aside, the woman quickly made her way to the kitchen to see what her children were getting up to now. She was surprised to see Wendy pouring dog food into one of their dinner bowls.
"Wendy? What are you doing?"

Lucky turned to the large dog "My name is Lucky, I kinda got lost from my family." Lucky started to say to the nursemaid when he saw her rush over to pull Michael out before he could be trapped in the toychest

At that point, the front door of the Darling Residence burst open. In walked George, looking slightly irritable after a long day's work. He removed his hat and placed it on top of a coat rack in the entryway, then removed his coat and placed that on there as well.
"Mary! Kids! I'm home!" He declared, walking toward the kitchen as he carefully removed his cufflinks from his wrists. He approached Mary and planted a kiss on her cheek, seemingly only half aware of his surroundings. "Hello, dear." He greeted her before turning toward Wendy.
"Hello, Wendy. Oh, you're feeding Nana? That's very responsible of you." He praised her. He hadn't noticed that she was pouring said food into one of their fine dinner bowls rather than the dog dish.

"Nana-" Michael giggled, pushing the dog's face away from him as she sniffed him all over. "I'm all right." He held up a small ball once his dog backed off, showing it to Lucky. "Do you want to play with this?" he asked, rolling it toward the pup.
Nana went and sat beside Lucky. "You lost your family? Don't worry. The Darlings are very kind people. They'll help you find them. And if they can't, there is always the Twilight Bark."
"Oh, Mother-!" Wendy exclaimed and was about to explain her actions when her father made his entrance. She held the bowl in front of her, waiting patiently to speak. The note of approval in her father's voice stirred up a feeling of pride, though she quickly took over the conversation after being addressed.
"Uh, thank you, Father, but this isn't for Nana. You see, when I was staring out the window, I saw a puppy walking around without an owner. I couldn't leave him out there all on his own, so I brought him back here to feed him-" But her Mother cut her off before she could say anything else.

"-A puppy!" Mary's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Wendy, you know not to bring strange animals into the house." She walked towards her daughter to take the bowl of food, examining the dish, an unimpressed look on her face. "You don't know where he's come from."
She looked around, expecting to see a puppy poking its head out from one of her cupboards. "Where is it?"

Lucky suddenly remembered the Twilight Bark, it helped his mom and dad locate him before so maybe it could work again "Good idea, I almost forgot about it. It helped me and my family before when we were pupnapped by Cruella DeVil"

Due to the exhaustion from the day's work, he was only really half listening to what Wendy had said in her response, or what his wife had just said. He took a few steps toward the stairs on his way out of the kitchen before he bolted around to again face them, his expression one of shock.
"A puppy?!" He said in a raised tone, his eyebrows furrowing. "Oh no! No, no, no! There are enough mouths to feed in the Darling residence, and we can hardly afford another!" He stated firmly, though another puppy would hardly make or break the family, as everyone was well aware.
He glanced toward the floor above as he heard Michael speaking. He could have merely been talking to John, but George had a good feeling he knew just who the boy was speaking to. George headed toward the stairs, his footsteps heavy as he quickly ascended them.

"What's this about a puppy?" John, the middle child had entered the kitchen, just as his Father declared that no puppies were to be allowed in their home. There was no time for explanations to be given, for Father had turned away to deal with a situation he knew little about.
"Oh, Father, please wait!" Wendy called out to him as he marched away. She looked helplessly at her Mother. "He's not a strange animal. His name is Lucky and he's lost." Visions of the Lost Boys appeared in her mind. "We need to help him find his family."
"So we're not getting a puppy?" John asked, while adjusting his glasses.
"No, no, it's nothing like that," Wendy told her brother and dashed out of the kitchen after her Father.
"Come on, puppy!" Michael whined, upset that the dog wasn't interested in playing. "Dontcha wanna play with me?"
"You were one of the fifteen stolen puppies?" Nana asked, recalling the famous case. She picked up the ball and placed it before Lucky. That was when the sound of someone coming up the stairs reached her ears.
"Father's home!" Michael exclaimed happily and rushed toward the nursery door to open it.

"Wendy!" Mary called, holding up a hand as the girl rushed out. She glanced down at the bowl she held in her hand, then over to John, and finally the entrance to the kitchen. With a sigh, she too headed for the staircase, John following after her.
"George!" Mary called up to him when she reached the foot of the stairs. "Maybe we should talk about this first."

Lucky nodded, he noticed Michael rushing to the door "Yeah, guess the news of Cruella's crimes reached over here huh? I'll never forget that night. My mother and father Pongo and Perdita went for their walk along with our owners Roger and Anita radcliffe leaving me and my brothers and sisters at home with our caretaker Nanny. We were settling down for a nap when Cruella's two henchmen Jasper and Horace broke in and stuffed us in a sack and took us to Cruella's mansion Hell Hall where we found 84 more dalmatian puppies whom were also kidnapped." Lucky explained to Nana recalling the events of that night when his small family of 15 became a large family of 101

"Mary, there's nothing to talk about! If it's lost it certainly isn't going to be finding its way home, nor its owners finding it, couped up in the nursery." He called down to his wife, sternly but with no anger projected at her.
George reached for the door handle, and staggered forward a couple of steps when it suddenly swung away from him, the nursery door having been opened from the other side. He looked down at his youngest son. "Hello, Michael." He greeted him, ruffling the boy's hair in his hand before his eyes met with the intruder in their midst.
He took a deep breath and puffed up his chest as he approached it, his brows furrowed, his look intense. He began to stoop with the intention of plucking the canine up by the scruff of its neck, but he hadn't seen nor noticed the rubber ball under foot.
In an instant his world was tumbling about, the room seeming to spin as he tripped forward on the ball, giving out a surprised gasp as his arms pinwheeled in a vain attempt to regain his balance. The cufflinks he had removed, which were still held in his left hand, now flew free, scattering across the floor (he would have some time finding those later).
As he finally lost to struggle against gravity and teetered, then fell, forward he fell into the toy box, face first.

Wendy watched in horror at the scene unfolding before her. She visibly cringed when Father landed in the toy chest and the gasps of all three of her other family members echoed her own.
"Oh, Father!" Wendy exclaimed and rushed forward.
"Father! Father!" Michael stumbled during his own scramble to get to his dad and John had to stop in his own attempts to help pick him up.
With all the commotion, the elder son hadn't been paying attention and nearly trampled over Lucky. Nana picked up the pup by the scruff of the neck, just in time.

"Oh, my goodness! George are you all right?" Mary had joined Wendy in trying to help her husband out of the toy chest, by taking hold of one of his arms. George had taken many nasty spills in this house, but the nursery had always seemed to bring about the worst accidents and this one definitely was no exception.
"Say something, dear."

With the help of his family he was pulled free of the toy chest. He turned around and laid with his back pressed against it. A strand of his now ruffled hair had somehow managed to tangle around the wheel of a small, wooden horse made to roll across floors. It now hung off of the right side of his face comically.
"Something." George said drolly, anger again surfacing in his face as he got his bearings about him.
With a grunt he pushed himself up to his feet, dusting off the seat of his pants with his hands as he scowled at the dalmatian puppy dangling from Nana's mouth. "Nana! Bring that puppy here!" He instructed, pointing toward the floor at his feet and waiting for the canine to comply.

A drawn out whimper left Nana when she heard the command. But how could she refuse to obey? She'd only make the conditions worse for both her and Lucky if she did and so reluctantly, the dog approached her Master and lightly set the pup down at his feet.
The Darling children looked on anxiously to see what their father would do.

"Perhaps there's a number or address of the owners on the tag," Mary suggested and watched some of the tension disappear off her children's faces. Out of the three of them, Michael looked particularly upset.
