Name: Louis
Age: Unknown, but most likely a young adult in alligator years.
Is From: New Orleans, Louisiana, The United States
Species: Alligator missisippiensis, American alligator
Height: At least 7 feet tall.
Weight: Estimated at around 1020 lbs.
Gender: Male
Likes: Jazz, music in general, having fun, relaxing, friends and company, food
Dislikes: Being alone, prickerbushes, hunters (with guns!!), and anything else that is possibly hazardous to his well-being - and then some.
Powers: Overwhelming strength and weight, and powerful jaws. Also an excellent swimmer, naturally.
Strengths: Very empathetic and caring, protective of his friends to the end, and one of the greatest trumpet players in all of Louisiana.
Weaknesses: Cowardly and neurotic at times, absent-minded and often clueless about things.
Allied with: Tiana, Naveen, and their associations.
Mortal Enemy: He's never one to make enemies, but if there is one, it's "The Shadowman" (Dr. Facilier).
History: Louis has quite an odd history for a simple alligator living in the middle of a swamp, although much of it remains a mystery. As a young hatchling, his curiosity had led him to examine a trumpet lying in the mud on the riverbed, presumably having been thrown off of or having fallen off of a passing riverboat. It didn't take him long to discover the fascinating noise-making capabilities of the instrument, and he quickly discovered that this noise could be changed into melody. A musical prodigy was born, that day. Riverboats often drifted down the bayous, lively jazz music echoing out of them, and Louis fell in love with the sounds of jazz as soon as he had first heard them, and picked up much of his talent from listening to them.
Music had become Louis' passion, as it remains so to this day. Fellow alligators had shunned him for these strange habits, but other wildlife think otherwise and rather enjoy Louis' music; this alone brings happiness to the alligator, although he so wanted to play among the great jazz musicians on the riverboats. Attempts to do so, in his words, "didn't end well." It wasn't until he met two humans-turned-frogs that this became a possibility. Immediately befriending the two, Tiana and Naveen by name, he followed them on their quest to return to their human form, hoping to become human himself. In the end, this was not possible, but his dream to play jazz among real musicians did come true when he became the star of a jazz band that played at Tiana's restaurant. To this day, he continues to play there.
