Note: This stupid thread is not canon, meaning it is not officially recognized as a part of any Fantasmic Kingdom storylines. This is not meant to be taken seriously; this is just a ridiculous adventure meant for goofy fun. Alice will be the first character introduced, but anyone else is free to join in, as long as it's consistent with the plot. Major character roles are dealt with through the sign-ups thread. This thread, while obviously inspired by Pokémon, is also inspired by Collin's distortion threads in Multiverse Unlimited. Thank you, Collin! ------------------------------------------------------- Not long ago, Alice became a Disnémon trainer. She was encouraged by an esteemed professor to leave her home in Englo, and travel across the world of Disnémon to challenge, and defeat, Disnémon Gym Leaders to earn badges. Her parents were initially nervous to allow Alice to embark on such an adventure, but they soon allowed their daughter to pursue her goal. Besides, it was just the beginning of summer, so she had ample time and didn't have to worry about missing school! On a fateful morning, Alice bid her parents good-bye, promised them that she would return, and left with her starter Disnémon, Donnie. After a day and a half's worth of random Disnémon encounters, and accepting challenges from adult strangers, Alice and her Donnie walked leisurely along Route 66. The route traveled through a suburban area filled with denizens, but many wild Disnémon could be found, as well. Alice's standard wardrobe consisted of a dusty red eyelet dress, black leggings, and Mary-Jane shoes that were also the same color as said leggings. She also had a black ribbon in her long, blond hair, which was tied into a cute bow on top. Alice's blue eyes focused on the road ahead, and a smile tugged her red lips. "This is so much fun, Donnie!" she happily exclaimed to her starter Disnémon. She looked down to her new friend, whom she allowed to walk beside her instead of remain within the confines of a Disnéball. Donnie was a little more than half of Alice's height.

Donnie, the adorable duck Disnémon with white feathers, large eyes of blue that sparkled like a Japanese animated character, and an yellowish-orange bill with two nostrils, nodded in agreement up to his polite master. He closed his eyes and smiled widely. Strangely, he had teeth whenever he smiled, but not at other times. "Yeah!" Donnie said with a squeaky, duck-esque voice.

The Disnémon's response made Alice giggle. She continued to walk, but she placed her hand on the top of Donnie's head and stroked it with approval. "I'm happy to have you as my starter Disnémon, Donnie! The Professor was lovely to recommend you." She flashed another warm smile down to the eager Donnie, and then looked straight ahead again. "And he is precisely whom we are going to visit, before we truly start our adventure!" She sighed happily before continuing. "I've always wanted to be a Disnémon trainer, you know. Ever since I was much younger." Her blue eyes looked upward, to the gorgeous sky with fluffy, white clouds. The scenic view only widened her smile. "And now," she said to Donnie," it's coming true!" She looked down to Donnie again, as she locked her hands together behind her back. "I should have thanked my mother and father again for allowing me to do this. This is my first time away from home like this." Worry crossed her face; she furrowed her eyebrows. "I hope I don't become homesick too soon."

Donnie snickered when he felt his master's touch. Following that, he happily listened to said master's exposition. He smiled the whole time and nodded often. He kept his focus on Alice most of the time, but he occasionally turned his head or leered to the road in front of them, to make sure he wouldn't trip or bump into anything. When Alice mentioned her first time leaving home for a long period of time, and her worry about becoming homesick sooner than later, Donnie's smile faded, and he shook his head.
"Nah!" he exclaimed. This told Alice that he was certain that she would be fine.

Alice looked down to Donnie, and giggled once again. "Thank you, Donnie," she warmly replied. She looked ahead with bold determination crossing her face. "Yes, perhaps you're right," said Alice. "I have no time to think of such nonsense now. I simply must prove myself. I want to be... a wonderful Disnémon trainer!" As she exclaimed, she clenched her fists and smiled determinedly.
After her display of boldness, she softened and pointed to an oncoming, large laboratory in the distance. "There it is, Donnie!" she exclaimed happily as she pointed. "That is the Professor's laboratory! We have to speak to him for just a moment, and ask him for advice. Let's hurry!" After that, Alice spontaneously broke into an agile run, as she headed straight for the exquisite laboratory. As she ran, her long hair fluttered into the wind, and bounced with each step.

Donnie didn't expect his master to dash so spontaneously His cartoony eyes widened, and he blinked twice before leaning forward and running (comically) to catch up to his quick mistress. "Hey!" he exclaimed, as he hurried after Alice, following her closely as they neared the Professor's laboratory.
A vast field of briar patches surrounded the lab, and many Disnémon who fettered in such an environment scampered about. This was Critter County, after all! Alice and her Donnie had fought such Disnémon the day earlier, on their way home. But now the trainer and her starter Disnémon were returning to the lab to meet with the Professor, so they didn't have time to stop and provoke the wild Disnémon.
Outside of the laboratory's entrance rested a modest rocking chair. Alice and Donnie passed by this chair, as they entered the lab...

Well it were always a curious thang, seein' them chillin' comin' up and goin' off to where evah tha wind want ta get 'em off ta. Now it were earlier on that one chi-al done go off on her own jus' like dat.
Right smart she were though, came on back ta ask a few words a advice- an I sure am hopin' she follows it. The old Disnemon researcher was puttering around the lab- one last disneball sat on his desk. He heard footsteps and turned about, leaning hard on his cane but smiling brightly at the young trainer that came into the lab.
"Why Miss Alice, wot bring ya round 'bout here again?"

Alice reduced her sprint to a casual walk when she entered the lab. She smiled as soon as she saw the familiar sight of the old Disnémon researcher. He was a true model of a gentleman: not only was he a famous researcher, but he was quite possibly the most knowledgeable of the subject in the entire world. Alice knew for certain that no one knew more and better about Disnémon than Professor Briar.
Alice (followed by Donnie) stopped when she was properly in front of Professor Briar. Continuing to smile warmly, she locked her hands together, typical for such a spirited girl, and bowed her head slightly in respect. "Good morning, Professor Briar!" she greeted. "I... decided to pursue the Gym badges after all. I came back to ask for advice." After a moment, her eyes shifted to the lone Disnéball on the desk. "Oh!" she exclaimed, and gestured to it. "No one has claimed that Disnémon yet?" This reminded her of her own starter Disnémon; she turned slightly and looked down to Donnie. "Thank you for giving Donnie to me, Professor. He's lovely!"

Donnie waved to Professor Briar when he was mentioned, and then smiled upward to his mistress. "Hehehehehe!" he snickered with a mischievous grin. When Alice gestured to the Disnéball, he blinked a few times at it in a curious fashion, and stepped closer to it to examine it. "Huh?" he loudly asked.

"An it's looks jus' like he's taken a shine to ya, Miss Alice." Which of course was one of the main things in the journey. Expanding on the bond between trainer and pokemon.
"I think you two are right on ya way ta where evah ya needs ta be." he rubbed his beard and chuckled at the water disnemon's question, "Oh now don't mind him. Mah last disnemon- ain't no one left ta give him to, so's he's gonna stay here wit Ol' Prof Briar."
The professor watched the young girl. there was that spark of promise that few young trainers had. "Miss Alice- I'ma ask a favor of you." He reached onto the table, handing her a small blue computer-like device.
"This here is ah Disnedex, it's got all manner a knowings on what Disnemon is what. It'll help ya 'long the way."

Alice looked at the lone Disnéball as Professor Briar explained it. After that, the newly-christened trainer looked up to the wise researcher, and her lips parted in awe when she first set eyes on the blue computer-like device. Said device had the silhouette of a shapely mouse's head as a logo. Ever the dainty one, Alice inadvertently brought her hands up close to her mouth as she eyed the marvelous device. She looked up to the professor with great modesty. "For... me? Oh, Professor Briar! Thank you!" Despite her great eagerness, she took great care with taking the Disnédex from the Professor's grip. Once she held the Disnédex, she examined it with the passionate curiosity of a youth, such as herself.
"Look, Donnie!" she exclaimed, as she held it for her starter Disnémon to see. "We have a Disnédex!" Once Donnie got a good look of the device, Alice faced Professor Briar again, and smiled warmly. "Professor Briar, I... I simply don't know how I could thank you for all you've done for me!" Her cheeks reddened lightly, and her eyes seemed to become misty, as she thanked him from the bottom of her heart.

Meanwhile, outside of Professor Briar's laboratory and not far away at all, a wild Padrat ran across a dusty path. This feral Disnémon resembled a large, anthropomorphic rat. Male, well-structured for its kind, and inexplicably attired in a lavish cape that often billowed behind his back, this Padrat was an odd Disnémon to be sure! When the Padrat ran across the path, he stopped, turned, and looked to see if anyone or anything had followed him. Satisfied that he was not being stalked, he turned ahead again and continued on his way.

Weren't that hard a thing- ta pick this chyld ta go on an adventure wot most folk don't go on for der entire livin' time. Jus' ta see that old look was enough to tel this old heart that'en I done somethin' jus' right.
The Professor gave a soft laugh, leaning a bit on his cane as he omved towards another table, "Now don't get choked up missy. Ol' Prof Briar done got somethin' else for you."
He held up six small balls in his hand, "These is Disnemon ball. Y'all can use 'em ta catch them wild critters you're gonna run inta. Do y'all know how ta use these here things?" It was an important skill for a trainer to learn after all. Building a team of critters was essential for making it to the top of the heap.

Alice, the aspiring Disnémon trainer, nodded and regained her composure. She straightened herself to formally listen to Professor Briar. Alice was raised in a family that fancied itself proper and polite, and such an upbringing was evident in Alice's demeanor. The very pretty girl with a ribbon and bow in her hair kept close to the wise professor. She watched and listened intently to the old genius, and her eyes fell on the Disnémon Balls. She smiled and nodded up to the professor.
"W--well," Alice answered modestly, "that is precisely one reason why I wanted to see you, Professor. I..." She stalled because she was embarrassed. She twiddled her fingers together and shyly looked downward, to her hands. "I don't think I know how to use Disnémon Balls properly." She looked up, first to the balls, and then up to the professor's eyes. Her own eyes expressed a great desire to be educated. She smiled and said softly, "Could you help me, just for a moment? Please?"

Initially, Donnie wasn't paying attention to the conversation between his mistress and Professor Briar. He wandered aimlessly about the laboratory, looking and touching things that interested him, or at least piqued his curiosity. He returned to the pair and paid attention, though, when the subject of Disné Balls was brought up, and continuously referenced. Donnie looked up to the professor's hand which held the objects, and he grinned adorably, like a jovial infant.
"Heeeeehhhh," he said with his comically squeaky voice.

The professor chuckled, leaning back on his cane and looking intently at the disneball in his, "Well chyld- now listen ta ol' Remus and he'll learn ya good how ta work these little doo-dad's." He gestured for her to follow him, moving towards the outside of the lab. There was a small patch of grass near by the building. He stood at the edge and gestured toward it.
"Now 'en. If y'all walks inta ona these grassy patches, more 'en likely y'all run inta a Disnemon. Course there be all different kinds a them critters, and ya gots ta 'member wot types'll work against what otha one's."
He watched the grass for a few moments and soon enough, there came a rustling noise...

...and out popped a small mouse like disnemon. The bright green eyes scanned the two humans haughtily before the mouse sniffed and sat back.
It was a Holmesie, a highly intelligent breed with a notoriety for being very picky about companions and trainers. But very loyal when a trust is earned.
The Holmesie stared at the duo before shrugging them off and finding something interesting to investigate.

Ever dutiful, Alice nodded up to Professor Briar and closely followed him outside of the laboratory, and to the heavily grassed patch. Her blue eyes remained on the man's face as he explained, but she snapped her attention to the patch when she heard the rustling noise. The quickness of her turn made her long tresses swoop the air. She placed her right hand over her heart, and she pursed her lips as she stared in anticipation, until...
"Oh!" she softly exclaimed when the Holmesie revealed itself. She smiled widely, removed her right hand from her chest and used it to point at the mouselike Disnémon. "Look, Donnie!" Alice exclaimed, but not loud enough to frighten or startle the Holmesie. She looked down to her right, but didn't see Donnie there. She then looked to her left, but Donnie was still missing. "Donnie?" she asked curiously. She turned and immediately spotted Donnie at Professor Briar's rocking chair! "Donnie!" she loudly whispered, between impatience and scolding.

Donnie had followed Professor Briar and Alice out of the laboratory, but the Disnémon lagged behind after that. He had jumped on the professor's rocking chair and merrily rocked it back and forth, gradually building up velocity. He waved his hands above his head and giggled all the time, but he stopped forcing the chair to rock after his mistress called for his name. He stopped smiling and timed himself to jump off the still rocking chair in time to land safely on his feet. He waddled to his mistress and the professor, his large, expressive eyes locked into Alice's.

Alice was satisfied when Donnie returned to her. She looked back to the Holmesie and admired it for a short moment, before slowly and quietly bringing up her Disnédex. Her blue eyes looked down to the computerized device. Fortunately, she managed to learn how to ready a Disnémon scan without consulting with Professor Briar. She readied the Disnédex and aimed the sensory lens directly at the Holmesie. Without saying anything, she pressed a button, and the Disnédex began to scan the mouse-like Disnémon.

Donnie looked from his mistress, to the wild Holmesie that appeared. He folded his arms on his chest and watched it intensely. Donnie was more than ready to go in and combat with it, if only Alice would give the order. Still having his arms on his chest, he looked up at his owner and noticed that she was fiddling with the doohickey that the Professor gave to her. He stared at the device for a moment, before looking back to what said device was aiming at: the wild Holmesie. He remained still and quiet, not wanting to mess up what his trainer was attempting to accomplish.

The Holmesie seemed to quirk an eyebrow when the child brought up the Disnedex. It seemed slightly surprised when the contraption began to speak.
"Holmesie- The Great Mouse Disnemon. Holmsies are quite often found within cities. They are very curious and said to be as smart as humans. Though they are also known to have mood swings, which only a Watsonian can hope to calm.
The small mouse tilted it's head, watching the two humans cautiously now.

Alice smiled widely as she examined her Disnédex, at how it functioned and how it displayed processed data. "This is wonderful," Alice quietly praised the Disnédex. She looked ahead to the Holmesie as she addressed Professor Briar. "I will ask for your help if I need it, Professor. Now let's begin the hunt, Donnie!" With great confidence, she pointed squarely at the mouse Disnémon and ordered her starter Disnémon: "Go, Donnie!"

Donnie was still a starter Disnémon, and was therefore inexperienced and not completely reliable. Nevertheless, he was already growing attached to his owner. When she ordered him to start a wild encounter battle, he grinned, jumped into the area between Alice (from behind) and the Holmesie (front), and quacked his specie's distinctive battle cry... which was anything but noble or respectable (it was a very humorous squeaky noise).
Because Donnie was inexperienced and recently born, he only knew one ability for sure: Tackle. With that, he made his first move and tackled the Holmesie.

The Holmesie gave a short squeak, falling back with the tackle. It glared haughtily at Donnie before pulling out a pipe and beginning to use a haze attack, covering the field a thick and rather strong smoke.

Professor Briar chuckled and did as she asked, stepping back a bit to keep an eye on the battle. The two Disnemon had fairly equal footing- it was really up to Alice. If she could spot the weakness of the Holmesie on her own.

Donnie tried to look through the thick smoke, but he couldn't see his opponent clearly. Not to mention that the thick smoke was hell on his nostrils. He coughed (the sound he made was comedic) several times, and between coughs he tried to search for the Holmesie.

Alice's eyes were wide with surprise. "Oh, dear!" she exclaimed. She was almost ready to panic already, but she obviously attempted to calm herself. "I must remain calm and rational. Is that so, Professor?" Alice looked to the professor briefly, before looking back to her Donnie. "Donnie!" she exclaimed. "See if you can tackle him again!"

At that point, Donnie's eyes appeared as humorously anime-esque dots (._.) as he tried to peer through the thick cloud of smoke, searching for the feral Disnémon. When his mistress commanded him, his eyes returned to normal, and he jumped and then charged at the spot where he last saw the Holmesie. His attempt to tackle was a complete shot in the dark.

<Laaaame post. I wasn’t quite sure how to enter.>
Far from Professor Remus’ lab, Cruella De Vil marched fearlessly through the grass. Her goal was to collect one of every type of Disenmon that existed, in addition to beating all eight of the famous gym leaders. Close by she heard a rustling noise and stopped in her tracks, trying to pinpoint the location. Standing perfectly still she waited until she heard the sound again and whipped around, the hem of her fur coat brushing against the grass, giving away her own location. Cruella spotted a Padrat to the left of her and her hand swiftly flew to the pocket of her coat where she withdrew a poke ball. She pressed the white button in the centre, releasing the creature inside.
“Scar! Go!”
