Disnémon - Information and Sign-Ups

The Disnémon Adventure is this year's April Fool's joke.

As you've probably noticed by now, there is a non-canon thread here in FK called "Disnémon - Super Non-Canon FK Adventure (ALL)." It is a blatant parody of Nintendo's Pokémon franchise, specifically the video games. Just like Pokémon, Disnémon are creatures that live with humans, and also in the wild. In this parody, the Disnémon are all Disney characters, but with a Pokémon-esque twist. (For example, we could have a Mickachu instead of a Pikachu.)

Alice takes on the role of the Good Trainer, and her starter (and currently only) Disnémon is Donnie (Donald Duck). Eventually, she can and will catch other Disnémon, all of whom she can command in battle. These wild Disnémon can be anyone.

However, characters that have a very major speaking/action role will be filled through sign-ups. Tentatively, there are eight Gym Leaders Alice will have to face and defeat for badges. Then there is the matter of Alice's Rival, who will meet up with Alice occasionally, and challenge her to battles, all the way up to very late in the adventure. Following the Gym Leaders, there is also the Elite 4, all of whom Alice will have to defeat near the end of her journey. Finally, Alice must face the Disnémon Champion for a title battle.

If your character(s) does not post without an excuse for an exceedingly long period of time, the thread will continue on, leaving out the lagging characters. This may seem harsh, but it's to prevent the thread from being deadlocked, and to keep everyone active without having to be stalled.

Because Collin has computer problems that are beyond his control, he requested that I remove him from the first Gym Leader spot, and place his character elsewhere. No worries, Collin! Because of this, every Gym Leader has moved down a number. No biggie!

How does one join? Do we have to go into the Disnemon thread or can we start our own in that section?

Currently, it's in that one single thread, and it follows a linear narrative, just like a story. So when the major characters need to come in, they will be notified. Otherwise, random character encounters (minor characters) can enter. For example, if minor character Anita wants to pick a Disnemon fight with Alice while she's on her way to a city, that can happen!

Disnémon is NOT dead! It may be a slow process now, but hopefully we'll be able to pick up the pace when summer takes full effect!

... Okay, so summer has taken full effect and this thread is still slow.. Well, I guess I have to do something about it. I moved along with the thread, and now I won't hold back on being pushy to get this thread going! Just a warning, everyone, I will now officially be more of a driving force to get this thread going! YEE-HAW!

In other news, we still need two more Gym Leaders, one more Elite 4, and a Champion. If anyone would like to volunteer for one of those roles, please fire away in this thread!

WHEW. This is the longest April Fool's joke in the history of anything. lol. Well, now that I'm settled in college, I can continue this adventure. For anyone who joined FK after this non-canon thread started (specifically Nicole, Frida, etc.) and would like to join, you may! In fact, I'm willing to give up Gym Leader 8's role just so someone who hasn't been able to sign up, but would like to, could hop on board.

Hmm... either Miranda or McLeach could be a Gym Leader, methinks. How much knowledge of Pokemon does one need? 'Cause I only watched the first cartoon long ago, but I'm fairly familiar with the fancified cock-fighting that goes on in the Pokemon-verse.

Sorry I didn't get to your question sooner, Nicole! You don't really need to know a lot about Pokemon, because this is a parody first and foremost. True, some of the role-players here are familiar with the games (myself included), but this thread is going to be so silly and over the top that an accurate representation of Pokemon is impossible.

But that last part you mentioned is completely accurate, and that's a good thing to remember. Pokemon is basically glorified cockfighting that's not only legal, but beloved by everyone in the universe. lol Either McLeach or Miranda would rock! In fact, if you want to use both, I could also give up my Gym Leader #6 position and give it to you, too. But the call's yours!

I'm playing the first gym leader, so you could read it when the time comes and get an idea of what'll happen. Although I imagine other Gym Leaders will be way funnier than this one...

YES!! George C. Scott is gonna make his Disnemon debut, and that's rad. lol. I probably mentioned this somewhere else, but George C. Scott (McLeach's voice actor, of course) had a kickass voice. It was so gravelly that I wondered what he sounded like when he read his kids bedtime stories.
