So my brother, a "Twilight" hating person like me- went to go see "Vampires Suck" the other day and came back with rave reviews. He said the acting was amazing and that the cast who spoofed the original cast did a phenomenal job mimicing them (he especially loved the one that portrayed Kristen Stewart). Here is a small clip from the film and the trailer beneath that. Please go support this film at the box office! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta-xT5fQrS4www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHkPJ1ACLrg

No offense, but I have zero interest in watching Vampires Suck. As much as I hate Twilight, I also hate Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. These guys are doing their best to make the worst films in the comedy genre. Even if they mock Twilight, I can't stand movies like Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans. I've watched Epic Movie, and I want to hurt Friedberg and Seltzer... but I can't hurt them as much as they hurt me.

Is this like a [insert here] Movie mocking Twilight? Those movies are as bad, if not worse, than the Twilight movies themselves...
Pass.

You are correct, Collin! It's from the same two untalented boychiks who made all those [insert here] Movie films.

The 'Vampires' trailer had a few moments in it that made me chuckle, but otherwise I hate those sorts of lazy spoof movies. Friedberg and Seltzer completely miss what makes satire movies funny. Methinks someone should strap them down in chairs and force them to watch Airplane and the Naked Gun series for 24 hours straight.

THIS, THIS, THIS, THIS, THIS, OMG, THIS. Dang, Nicole, you REALLY hit the nail on the head! Yeah! Just because a movie has blatant pop culture references regarding what came out in the past year, or a character getting hit on the head predictably, that does not make it funny. If you look at (in my opinion) the best parody/spoof films ever made--Young Frankenstein, Airplane!, The Naked Gun--you'll see that, while the jokes can get very silly and juvenile, for the most part the actors are playing it straight, like they were in a serious role. You can make a spoof movie that has so many goofy jokes and gags, but if your movie is earnest in some way, then it'll work.
These movies by Friedberg and Seltzer, I say, lack that earnestness. We should all remember the importance of being earnest. Herp. :B
Granted, a lack of earnestness isn't the only problem with Friedberg and Seltzer's movies, but I'll stop rambling.

Good man! Nice to see someone else loves Blazing Saddles as much as I do. I wish I could quote it here in FK.

*L* Thanks Joseph, Alex.
Another problem with those kind of bad satire movies is that a lot of the (non-poo and slapstick) jokes will be really dated in several years.
How could I forget Mel Brooks' movies? Maybe you anti-Twilight people (and vampires lovers) would get a kick out of Dracula: Dead And Loving It. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I'm sure it's funnier then Friedburg and Seltzer's stuff.

AHHH! I knew I forgot something. Yes, Nicole, exactly; if you make a Lady Gaga/Facebook/whatever joke that's very specific to a certain time period, guess what? You'll immediately date yourself. Yep. Pop culture references do not automatically make a movie funny.
Haha! I actually referenced Dracula: Dead and Loving It in my Twilight review. [/shameless plug, but don't read it if you love Twilight, because I'm brutal!]

Well, I loved Twilight, except for the last two books and Jacob. But as soon as I saw the first trailer on the T.V. I was laughing so hard I could hardly contain myself!
I can't wait until I go and see it!

Meh...to each his own. Personally, I'd watch this instead:
These guys are the best at mocking bad movies, and they used to be on an old TV show called Mystery Science Theater 3000. And to be brutally honest, the only way i'd watch any of the movies, is if i had one of these babies going on my ipod during it. XD

Oooohhh...Oops.. I remember that part. I'm sorry, Alice. But it was SO funny! HA HA H HA HA HA HA!
Even Jack, my IDOL, didn't want to see it! *Heart breaks, a cracking noise could be heard from across the room*
I guess I'm the ONLY one here who really wanted to see it.

Even Jack, my IDOL, didn't want to see it! *Heart breaks, a cracking noise could be heard from across the room* *Peter Banning looks to Peter Pan's role-player* " My Jack..." Edit: Don't feel bad if you want to watch it! Just because some of us dislike Friedberg and Seltzer doesn't mean that you're wrong for wanting to see Vampires Suck.

But, Jack, I watched all of RiffTrax videos on Youtube and I have to say that they ARE geniuses!

"Evil Harpo!" =D I really got a kick out of that Riffrax. And I thought I recognized those guys' voices. But yeah, we all like what we like and there's nothing wrong with that, Peter Pan. But my question is this: how on earth are they going to handle that last movie? I hear there's a birthing scene in the book that is... mind-shatteringly bizarre, to say the least. Meh...to each his own. Personally, I'd watch this instead: These guys are the best at mocking bad movies, and they used to be on an old TV show called Mystery Science Theater 3000. I work at a movie theater and thus I get free passes for movies 9 out of maybe 10 times. I saw this movie and IMHO it stunk on ice. I am a terrible critic which in other words I find it really hard to think a movie is "Bad" Most of the movies I see are " Amazing" "Great" "Good" "Terrific" "Average" "OK" but haven't said anything was a "Bad" movie in years now. I was saying that about this. And the funny thing is I like most of these 2 directors stuff.
