Anyone who's holding their breath to see more of Guillermo Del Toro's Disney Double Dare You is going to turn very blue. It is confirmed that Disney Double Dare You "is gone." Disney Double Dare You was announced one year ago. It would have been a film series from Disney and Guillermo Del Toro, animated movies that were family friendly but have scary overtones. Unfortunately, that idea is as dead as the Haunted Mansion's occupants. Guillermo Del Toro has this to say: Some of those big deals I’d made, with Disney and Universal, I had to dance really fast to be able to get a period of grace to shoot those Hobbit movies, and then be able to make those deals active again. That period came and went, and we were not shooting. That Disney Double Dare You deal is gone. I am developing a relationship with DreamWorks that’s still to be defined, but it’s not as it was going to be at Disney. Disney was a beautiful opportunity, but with the timing and the delays and everything, I couldn’t activate it. This isn't the first time Del Toro left an idea; he is no longer attached to The Hobbit films as director, but nevertheless he is still credited as a screenwriter. Not confirmed is whether or not his announced Haunted Mansion film is a replacement of Disney Double Dare You. Aw, DAMMIT. >:[ I was really looking forward to this. The world could use some animated horror films, and more good genre breakers in general like that - and to have them come from Disney would have been fantastic.
Well, at least we have that Haunted Mansion movie to look forward to.

I agree. I'm very disappointed that Double Dare You is gone. Le sigh.
Let's just hope the new Haunted Mansion movie will be way better than the piece of crap last, and will redeem the loss of Double Dare You.

I don't really understand what you're asking, but I'll try to answer. The proposed first movie of the Disney Double Dare You film line was known as Trollhunters. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be seeing that after all.

Disney Double Dare You may be canceled, but Guillermo Del Toro is now with DreamWorks. And wouldn't you know it, Trollhunters has been picked up by DreamWorks. *snaps fingers in an "Aw, nuts" fashion*
