MAGIC KINGDOM: MICKEY MOUSE, JACK SPARROW & SNOW WHITE, TOGETHER AT LAST?In 2002, Disney teamed up with Square Enix (the videogame company behind the popular Final Fantasy franchise) for Kingdom Hearts, the first in a new franchise of role-playing games that teamed up classic Disney characters with Final Fantasy characters. Now, the studio has announced plans for Magic Kingdom, a movie project that would do something similar for Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, the various "Princess" characters and other favorites from their many movies and theme park attractions. And the somewhat bizarro theme that they would unite them is the idea of Magic Kingdom being like the Disney version of Marvel's The Avengers or DC's Justice League of America. It should definitely be mentioned that Marvel Studios is now under the corporate aegis of Disney, so it's easy to see a corporate synchronicity there as well. The original Magic Kingdom script was written by Ronald D. Moore, creator of the TV shows Battlestar Galactica and Caprica (Moore also cowrote Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact), and took place at Disneyland. Disney reportedly considers Magic Kingdom a "low priority" (meaning it's probably a few years from happening), but the studio is currently looking for a new writer to build upon Moore's original script. Other upcoming Disney movies that may tie into Magic Kingdom (or not) include Cinderella, Guillermo del Toro's The Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and Tomorrowland movies, Maleficent, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White and the Seven. Why? Because then it'd be more or less Fantasmic Kingdom: The Motion Picture! If it's at least better pulled off than House of Mouse, I'd be willing to watch. I immediately thought of Kingdom Keepers when I read the premise, though. With that said, I'm not at all happy about upcoming Disney remakes. And that Jungle Cruise movie has been rumored (and stagnant) since before I was an adult. To quote Joel of MST3K, "What do you think, sirs?"

This is either going to be awesome, or the Disney version of Space Jam. Then again, it could be so-so. Couldn't agree more about House Of Mouse, although I still expect to see the television series characters like the Gummi Bears and Darkwing Duck to be ignored as usual. Are they really remaking Snow White and Cinderella? Why?

Crap, I didn't even think of the film being like Space Jam! Ugh. I hope it won't end up like that. lol This is just speculation, mind you! But I'm pretty sure it's because of the pants-soiling, surprising, amazing (some would say undeserving) success of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. That movie just happens to be the second highest-grossing live-action Disney film of all time, after Dead Man's Chest. So I think it's because of the tremendous success of that film that attempts to repeat that formula will be made. Then again, Burton's Alice was some weird sequel and not exactly a remake, so... what the hell is going on with Cinderella and Snow White?

I hope those remakes remain purely speculation. Then again, Burton's Alice was some weird sequel and not exactly a remake, so... what the hell is going on with Cinderella and Snow White? I'm predicting "Snow White Exxxtreme", where, instead of having furry forest creatures as her companions, she has pit bulls and iguanas, and she's also an extreme skateboarder who doesn't fit in at the castle because of those jealous blonde princess bimbos.

I think Disney is about to jump Bruce. Pixar joke for Jump the shark.

HAHA! Just imagining Snow White doing skateboard tricks in front of pit bulls and iguanas is disturbing. *Snow White does the hang loose hand gesture* "Word!"
Ah, yes! Bruce. I remember the time when I played as that shark. Man, has it been nearly 7 years already?!
