FK Halloween Volume IV - CANCELLED

A Fantasmic Kingdom Halloween Volume IV is cancelled.

• Trick, by Joseph. In this brief opening, Alice inadvertently scares the wits out of several unpleasant girls from her school.
  
• Poor, Ugly, Beautiful, by Heffy. San reunites with a lost loved one in a dream, but as she contemplates who she is, what she has become, and who she must be, the dream quickly becomes a nightmare.
  
• Friend of Spiders, by Joseph. Briar Rose befriends a large, wounded spider. At first she is happy to have company, but she begins to suspect something is horribly awry when she is visited by hundreds of spiders of all shapes and sizes.
  

If you are interested in contributing to Volume IV, here are the guidelines!

• The master of ceremonies is the Halloween Narrator. This enigmatic character is broad and vague enough for just about anyone to utilize. Of course, you are able to choose whether or not to use the Halloween Narrator to introduce your work.
  
• Halloween does not have to be directly referenced in your story, nor does your story have to take place during Halloween. However, your story has to be supernatural or eerie in some way. Not every story has to be horrific (i.e., your story can be a comedy with a supernatural theme).
  
• You may use characters that you do not role-play.
  
• Stories and poems are allowed. There is no limit to how much you may contribute for one volume, but there’s no need to write more than two stories.
  
• The maximum rating for a story is PG-13. You may write R-rated stories, but they won't be distributed by the Encyclopedia. You may write an 'uncut' version of your story and send it to your friends, but all stories hosted on the Encyclopedia must be below an R rating.
  
• Original characters are allowed in the stories, since the stories follow a continuity different from the FK RPG forum.
  
• Disney characters cannot be killed, akin to one of the FK RPG rules.
  
• Story length requirement: no shorter than 1,000 words and no longer than 20,000 words. 1,000 words is nothing! Also, introductions and conclusions from the Halloween Narrator are not included in the word count.
  
• There is currently no limit for poems, because they are much shorter than a story. Epic poems that rival The Odyssey in length are not advised!
  
• ALWAYS MAKE COPIES OF YOUR STORIES! Literally everyone who has contributed or started a story for A Fantasmic Kingdom Halloween—Joseph, Amanda, Kris and Moony—has had computer issues that resulted in lost files! It’s maddening and it happens far more often than one dreads! Every time you update your story’s progress, do yourself a favor and save another copy, whether on an external hard drive or even sent to yourself as an e-mail. It’s better to be safe than to be sorry, and don’t say I didn’t warn you!

If you were wondering why this was announced way back in July, I'll tell you. It's September already. The release date just sneaks up! Heh.

So it's September! Remember, the current release date for Volume IV is October 24. So if you would like to contribute to the volume, but haven't thought of any possibilities yet... well, no time like the present!

I'm gonna try and finish one of my stories soon, then work on the next. Someone please contribute, because it'd be really boring if there were only three Joe stories! :B

I don't think I ever mentioned this in the Halloween Volume rules (my bad!), but you can use characters outside of your own in stories. For example, you may write a story that features Mushu, Donald, and San as major characters and sleep like a baby. Halloween stories are done a bit differently than role-play, after all.

... Mushu, Donald, and San together. Already that's a hilariously awkward premise.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond control this year's volume has been delayed. The release date is now the 29th, a week from tomorrow. But that's it!

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, this year's volume will have to be delayed, likely to sometime after October 31. Hannah has unfortunately lost her story for good, and Heffy, Moony, and I have all had conflicts. Here's hoping next year's volume won't be troublesome!
