Name: Merlin.
Age: Between his sixties and seventies. Maybe even beyond.
Species: Human; wizard.
Alignment: Good.
Attire: Blue robe with a tall blue hat. Under his robe, however, he wears a white undershirt and pink boxers. It’s funny. Admit it. He also wears fabric shoes.
Accessories: Spectacles; a wizard staff that looks rather plain. Fortunately, it has a knob on the end.
Mortal Enemy: Madame Mim and Merlin have always had a riff. However, in older versions of Fantasmic Kingdom, Jafar was often Merlin’s rival.
Abilities: Supernatural powers... in other words, strong magic.
Voice Actor: The late and great Karl Swenson. He was a very famous radio actor, but you may also know him as Lars Hanson from “Little House on the Prairie”.
Merlin’s current replacement voice is Hamilton Camp. It’s a decent impression, but no one could mistake it for the original. Sadly, Hamilton Camp has passed away very recently.
Character Information: A great sorcerer, Merlin lives deep among the trees in Sherwood Forest, of the Enchanted Woods. Merlin’s wisdom and magic rank second to none, but he uses his magic mainly for educational purposes. For example, he currently serves as Alice’s tutor.
However, Merlin is quite possibly the most forgetful character in the Disney canon; he is very absent-minded. But still, his contribution to the goodies is invaluable.
Useless Bit of Information: Merlin’s nose was based straight from Walt Disney’s.
Most Likely to Say: “Now, don’t get any foolish ideas that magic will solve all your problems, because it won’t”
Least Likely to Say: “WHY SO SERIOUS?”
Merlin taught a young Arthur how to be king in “The Sword in the Stone” (1963).
