Donald was in the humble village that surrounded Princess Castle. Although initially he was there for different reasons, his attention was squarely focused on a dollar bill that danced through the air. He had discovered this paper money lying on the ground, but just before he could snatch it a sudden gust of wind blew it into the air, and it had evaded Donald's constant attempts to snatch it ever since. Donald had chased this dollar bill almost in a blind chase; he hadn't realized where he was heading as he constantly jumped and ran after the seemingly taunting money. At last, Donald snatched the dollar bill.
"Ha! Got ya!"
As soon as he stuffed the dollar bill into his shirt pocket, he casually looked around and finally realized that he was a far away from where he was supposed to be.
"Uh... I'm in a castle courtyard!" he said to himself as he looked around the courtyard in confusion. he scratched the back of his head as he eyed the environment. Just how did he manage to sneak past guards so easily? Were there even guards?
"Well, I'll be doggoned," he muttered.

It was quite a fine day, where the weather over-looking the Castle was concerned. There was a little wind, which could be heard whistling through the trees even now and then, but it was mostly a pleasant day.
Out on the grounds of the Castle, happened to be Cinderella. A thoughtful expression on her face, she had decided to take a walk around to think about some matters that needed sorting out. The main one was about a change in her life, that had happened, it seemed, only yesterday. In reality, it had been a few months since she'd married that wonderful prince of hers, and become...a princess. Cinderella found that she still couldn't get used to her new life, as for the past many years, she'd been made a servant to her stepmother and her daughters.
'Oh, why do I feel this way so much?' She thought, sighing.
The girl would not allow herself to go too far into her own self-pity, but could not ignore the growing emotion of worry inside of her. The worry she would not be a good enough princess. She had no type of experience, and though her prince assured her she was going to succeed at being one, it didn't entirely qualm the thoughts in Cinderella.
A voice not far away suddenly broke her from her thoughts. Glancing up, she wondered, correctly, if the stranger was lost, because they were looking around the courtyard, almost as if something might jump out at them. Continuing her walk, she waited until she got closer to the duck before speaking.
"Hello," she spoke in her soft voice, "Are you alright? You seem a little lost."

Donald heard the voice, the very feminine voice as soothing as the coo of a dove. He turned and looked up to young woman, taller than he was. He recognized her immediately from the newspapers.
He widened his eyes, removed his hat and bowed his head. "Hiya, Your Majesty!" he exclaimed. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Princess Cinderella!" He didn't know what else to add, so he remained silent, remaining in his bowing position.

It was quite fortunate that there wasn't any guards about. Even if there had, Cinderella would've protested to them removing the duck from the grounds. She had never had many opportunities back in her old home to meet people in the past few years, and she was busy with her royal duties much of the time now, so she favored any time she got to have a conversation with someone outside.
As his bow, the girl curtsied back to him, a smile forming on her face, though the way she was feeling now made how she was addressed even more uncomfortable, but knew the duck was only being polite.
"Yes, it is a pleasure to meet you too," she kindly said, then added in more straight-forward tone, "but please, just Cinderella will do. What may I call you?"

Donald straightened himself and placed his hat back on his head. He smiled when the beautiful princess displayed modesty. When she asked for his name, the duck stuck his chest out proudly, pointed to himself with his thumb, and said, "Donald Duck!" He stepped closer to the human and offered his right hand for a handshake. Donald was definitely shorter than Cinderella, and his head only reached her abdomen in level. But they still could have easily shook hands. "At your service, Cinderella!"

Max was still following the duck around when the girl approached. He thought she smelled pleasant and barked a hello, tail wagging back and forth.

Cinderella already liked Donald; he came across as very charming, but humble with it. She took his hand as he offered it and shook it, "It's nice to meet you, Donald," the princess warmly replied, releasing his hand. Before she could say any more, a bark was heard from behind Donald, and a white and gray sheepdog approached.
Being reminded of her own dog, Bruno, the girl held out her hand for the dog to come closer. Cinderella glanced up to Donald as she did, "Does this dog belong to you?" She asked.

Seeing the girl extend her hand to him, Max walked on over to her. He then began licking the hand happily. He liked this girl; she seemed nice to him.

(OOC: Sorry to keep you waiting. Been very busy!)
Donald smiled, but his brows furrowed when the dog was mentioned. He looked down to the sheep dog and shook his head. "Uh-uh. I just found him here. I wonder who owns him?" The duck looked up to the pretty woman again and grinned like a smart alleck. "So he's not yours?"

[It's fine. (:]
Cinderella gave one of her radiant smiles as the dog came over to her hand. She bent down slightly and gave the dog a pet, before standing to face Donald as he spoke. Her expression changed to a more thoughtful one as she wondered what to do. "Well, hopefully they can't be far away." Cinderella turned her head to look out at what could be seen over one of the palace walls, still deep in thought.
"No, he's not mine," the woman looked to the duck again, before giving a short, but amused laugh. "He is reminding me of my dog already in some ways, though."

"Yeah," Donald agreed with a nod, as he looked down to the dog. "Me, too! But Bolivar is my dog; he's a St. Bernard."
The duck looked back up to Cinderella, and then past her to the beautiful castle. "It must be swell to live here, huh? I wanna sleep on a castle bed, just to see how comfortable it is!" As he mused about the castle, he closed his eyes, smiled, and sighed.

The woman listened to Donald as he talked about his dog, before replying, "Bruno's mine. He can get quite...enthusiastic over certain things, but he's just a lovable soul at heart. You could say he's always been there for me." Her tone was light as she talked about Bruno, and one could tell from her face she truly cared for him as a pet, and a friend.
Cinderella smiled, amused at Donald's reaction to the castle.
"Well, I suppose it's...nice, yes. It's..." She trailed off, unable to continue, as she couldn't think of what to say about the castle with how she felt now, despite attempting to. The woman didn't realize it, but her smile had faded, and it was clear her face had become distant, as she struggled to find the right words.
It was unlike her to become like this, but the worrying had not gone, and the emotion kept on growing. Despite how she felt inside, she knew that these last few months of her life had been the best she'd had in many many, years.
After a moment, Cinderella realized what she'd done. "Would you like to take a look inside, Donald?" She kindly asked, unsure of just how long she'd stood in silence.

Max could sense that the girl was feeling unhappy about something, which made him sad. He didn't like seeing people unhappy. After whining a little, Max jumped up and licked her face, hoping to cheer her up.

Donald looked up to the beautiful princess (for she was considerably taller; he only reached her stomach) as she explained, and listened carefully. He noticed how she trailed off, and he raised a brow and half-closed his eyes as he thought of why she would be so hesitant. But his face lit up when the dog suddenly jumped at the princess, and licked her face. The duck pointed and grinned.
"I think he likes you!" he chuckled. "And you bet I wanna take a look inside!" He nodded enthusiastically. By now, he had completely forgotten that he was brought here because of a dollar bill.

Although her mood still hadn't eased, Cinderella laughed good-naturedly when the sheepdog leapt up and licked her on the face. She was more the used to her own dog doing this, so it didn't bother the ever-gentle woman.
"Alright, boy!" She smiled to the dog, once more bending down to pet him. As she did so, she looked to Donald when he spoke again. "I think he does. He's being very good to say we're not his owners." Cinderella then stood up when he accepted her offer to be shown inside the Castle.
"Follow me," she said, her expression still warm, but her voice now in a more instructing tone. The young woman turned in the direction of the entrance, leading the way up to the main entrance. There were a few more guards stood in the grounds now, but, seeing both Donald and the dog were with Cinderella, they didn't question them.
