Happy 40th birthday, Walt Disney World! I've only visited you twice, and I wish I can visit you again.

40 huh? Walt Disney World looks good for its age. XD
Also, I admit it's comforting to see that I'm not the only Disney fan who hadn't visited WDW more then twice before. I mean, I'm not saying that I wouldn't want to visit again, but sometimes pple make you feel kinda strange for not visiting ten times a year or something.

The last time I visited Walt Disney World was 2000, and guess what? A damn bus driver coughed on me. He didn't have the damn courtesy to cough in his shoulder, or hand, or whatever. He just looked my way and coughed. And sure enough, I got sick. I was so angry! It wasn't a simple cold, like the kind where you can still go to the parks. No, I was bedridden most of the time. I've only visited the place twice my entire life, and the second time I was too sick to go on most days.
THIS IS WHY I KILL. *polishes hatchet loaned from Susan*

Now, if you check out Disney fandom in any of its many, many forms, you will probably find, as I have, that 'Parks Fans' outnumber 'Movies Fans' in almost every circle, venue, whatever you want to call it.
Go to any convention, and you will be the odd man out if you don't have an annual pass and visit a park multiple times per year. I've sat with folks who know every Imagineer by name and what rides he worked on, but haven't seen even half the films and can't recall who Kathryne Beaumont is.
Unthinkable! to my mind.
To me, the movies, especially the animated features, are the heart of Disney, and the parks are an extension of same. To the majority of those who call themselves Disney fans, it's just the opposite.
Even the company favors the parks over the films, IMHO, probably because they bring in the bucks.
BTW, I visit a park every three years or so. Been to DL 3 or 4 times, WDW maybe 15. Just FYI.

Yeah, you do have a point, L. I've listened to some Disney-related podcasts, in which the hosts flat-out admit, "I'm not a fan of Disney movies, so much as Disney parks." You know, that's the amazing thing about Disney. It's such a huge corporation that it has many different areas, and people have interests in some aspects, but not in others. Yeah, animated films (with an emphasis on what I deem 'classic') is my primary interest in Disney, but I love Disneyland, California. I will forever adore it. Hmm. This sounds like a good topic for an out of character thread. Thank you, L! You gave me an idea! THEY DON'T KNOW WHO KATHRYN BEAUMONT IS? HANG THEM. HANG. THEM.
