Story Iago landed with a soft thud on the outer wall to the palace, hidden behind one of the green trees. He did -not- want to get found out by the palace guards.
"Great...I gotta get, a short cut here." He caught his breath and shook out his feathers.
"Where the heck are the kids..." With Jafar tramping around the palace, he really needed to get the heads up.
And maybe figure out why he was risking his tail feathers doing all this in the first place. <WOW! I have no idea where this is going to fit in with what Aladdin and Jasmine are doing, but I'm going to say this is shortly after they escaped from Mim.> Deeming it safe to return to the palace, Aladdin took Jasmine to discuss what happened in the treasury with the Sultan. The Sultan himself had quite a few questions himself about why portions of the palace were in shambles. Once that was all said and done, Aladdin decided he better check out the market place for any other signs of Mim, thus he made for the palace gates. (OOC: this is after that <_>')
Iago spotted Al easily from where he was perched, but now he had to actually pull up the nerve to fly down and talk to fez-boy.
With a slightly dramatic sigh he flew down to an empty stand in the boy's path.
"Please don't kill me..." he muttered under his breath. "Iago!" Aladdin growled, stepping back in surprise when the bird landed. "What are you up to now?" Now Jasmine had mentioned something about Iago being good, but being good didn't mean you were trustworthy. ...As the guards so often reminded him. -_-; <How far after?> (OOC: Uh...I dunno, a day?)
"I'm picking out potpourri. The lair just hasn't lost that musty sand smell." He replied in obvious sarcasm.
"I'm lookin' for you." He didn't know what to call Al...so he'd avoid it if possible.
"Jus' askin' if her Highness put anything new up in the treasury." He shrugged and ruffled his feathers iddly, "You know, more guards, a security system...maybe a few booby traps." Abu had been out in the palace yard, sleeping in the shade when he heard the familiar voice of Iago. This caused him to become wide awake. He crept closer to the two until he was behind a nearby bush, listening closely to Iago's words, ready to pounce."We're fine, Iago," Aladdin snapped. "Why do you care anyway? Hoping to get in there yourself? I'll be sure to let Razoul know." "Well excuse me for not wantin' the Seven Deserts ta be under the rule of a psychotic snake." He folded his wings and turned his back on Aladdin.
"Ya know ya could be a little more appreciative about what I'm doin' kid." Why was this so hard T_T Jasmine stood in the doorway of the treasury, the sceptor in her hands. She looked down at it with a small frown before turning to look over her shoulder at the guards as they spoke with her father.
Something wasnt right. ... they were overlooking something.Psychotic snake? The words produced the quick mental flashbacks of Jafar's snake staff and then the man himself saying 'you don't know how snakelike I can be!' "Jafar?" Aladdin said, though more to himself than anything. "What does he want Iago?" He didn't dare suggest the sceptor for fear of confirming information Iago was looking for. At around the same time at the treasury a small figure scurried over to the door, the figure being a small crimson colored scorpion inched over to the door, the scorpion being in reality Jafar having assumed the form of this dangerous arachnid decided the time was right to gain entry into the treasury and gain the book he sought after, one concern was that Mim might have grabbed it already. Jafar still in the form of a scorpion squeezed his way underneath the door. "Soon that book will be mine!"Jasmine didnt notice the movement at her feet, watching the guards talk. Jafar gazed up seeing Jasmine, the sceptor in her hands being of no interest to him unaware of it's hidden magic, Jafar was overcome with the temptation to sting Jasmine with the stinger on his tail, he instead continued into the treasury. The book wouldn't be too far from his grasp.Iago gave an annoyed squawk before looking up at the boy with narroed eyes, "Kid...he's afta the book! It's practically a map to every single magic item in tha seven deserts!!!"
He poofed out before shaking his head, "Look! Just keep Jafar's grubby mits off it an everything'll be ok." he finished with a small huff, looking more troubled now that he'd actually spilled the beans.
"And for once kid- don't do anything crazy." Why did he bother though- the kid had a hero-strike the size of the Nile. -_- "The book? The one that Jasmine brought back?" The way Iago was acting suggested that the parrot was NOT lying and that something terrible really could happen. By the sounds of things, it wasn't going to be a "light" issue either. "I've got to warn her! Thanks Iago! Stall Jafar if you can!" Aladdin turned and ran toward the palace.

The parrot watched Aladdin run off; stall Jafar? The kid m made it sound so easy!
With a gruff squawk Iago took flight- taking a more direct route to where his master was. He just hoped that none of the guards decided that -he- needed to be stalled.
"Now where'd his vile-ness go?" He scanned the open areas of the palace before soaring into the hallways; trying to get a guess where Jafar was. With a sudden stop and gasp he nearly colided with the wall.
"Geez! He went after the book all ready." he turned and headed towards the treasury- looking for anything that could be Jafar.
