Edith stood up from her seat to get a better look at the Cheshire Cat. Never before had she seen such a bizarre-looking cat.
"Well, at least he doesn't seem to be dangerous," Edith thought to herself.

*Curious as well, the floating, widely-grinning cat drifted down closer to the girl. He really seemed clueless to why she would suddenly stop like that.*
Dear Alice, what in Wonderland is the matter?

Alice looked up to where the Cheshire Cat was, but he wasn't there any longer. She looked about until she found the cat, who was now much closer to the girl. "Oh!" she exclaimed softly in surprise. She shrugged timidly and said to the cat, "How could I possibly trust you after what you've done to me?"
She looked to her sister, then to Donald, and frowned. "He led me to trouble before."

"Huh?" Donald exclaimed. He narrowed his eyes to the cat and, in a 'tough guy' fashion, folded his arms across his chest and grimaced at the supernatural cat. "Is that so?!" he said, half threateningly.

Alice's statement worried Edith. If the Cheshire Cat had caused trouble for Alice in the past, what was to stop him from doing so again?
"In what way did he lead you to trouble, Alice?" Edith inquired.

Once Edith addressed her sister, Alice looked from the anthropomorphic duck, and looked to Edith. She shrugged her shoulders lightly, her delicate hands raised barely above her head. "Well," she said, then looked up to the cat. "He ought to explain himself, I should think." She lowered her hands to her sides and her face hardened. Not enough to be stiflingly rude or contemptible; more like polite-yet-firm.

Edith turned to the Cheshire Cat and asked, "What trouble did you cause Alice in the past?"

*the cat simply shrugs, rolling over on his back in the air.*
If many people dwelled on ancient history, we would stilll be living in the dark ages, as it were. As I do not, I simply have not an inkling of what has been spoken. Care to enlighten a feline mind?

Alice became more annoyed, and her voice proved it. "Please don't be that way, Mr. Cat!" Alice protested up to the cat. "You may pretend to not remember, but I do remember! You led me to the Queen, and I almost lost my head because of you." She folded her arms on her chest as her face remained stern, her blue eyes locked into the extraordinary feline's eyes. "If you brought me trouble before, how could I trust you now?"

*The enigmatic cat's body slowly disappears, his head the only thing that remains, the head still turned upside down. Suddenly, it rights itself, the cat's aqua-colored gaze still resting on the young English girl.*
That may be, and I am simply not seeking for forgiveness if you will not give it...however in one's youth, an individual may travel down many paths and get lost down most of them before they find the correct one. The seasons turn faster here than in Overland.

Already Donald was defensive over Alice, and gave the Cat the stink-eye. "You better find the correct path," he threatened. "Or I'll take you down my path!" He looked from Edith to Alice, and then back up to the cat's face.

Alice eyed the cat and listened intently to his explanation. Her face softened, and she waved a hand to Donald and shook her head. "Thank you, Mr. Duck, but I will trust him one more time." She looked to the Cheshire Cat again. "I will trust you once more, Cheshire Cat. If you're better this time, I will forgive you. What do you say?" Her face and voice had softened, but she still wasn't completely friendly with the Cat.

*The cat's head bobbed in positive acknowledgement, then dissipated into smoke again, drifting down towards Alice. The Cheshire cat's body then became solid again, in a resting pose, laying on nothing but thin air.*
Good...then you must know that I am not one to be wary of; The queen on the other hand, is another story altogether. She has been "positively, undeniably mad" as of late...which is a step higher from "quite mad", which she is what she was, as you last met her.
